I just tried to add the keyword "coronavirus-pandemic" to a TV episode, and it was automatically changed to "covid-19."This is the first time that I've seen this, but it seems like a good way to help reduce keyword sprawl and the need to merge keywords. Is this new, and are there other keywords that

@Michelle Yes, that describes the problem exactly. A good example is my contribution #220316-190749-428000. I tried to delete 40 keywords, but 8 of them were declined, all of which contained "timeframe-" keywords or keywords with main genres

Please reinstate easy deletion of keywords that contain main-genre suffixes (e.g. vietnam-war, environmental-crime, interspecies-romance)

I decided to create a new post on this issue, to make sure IMDb will see it. Fairly recently, and simultaneous with IMDb's decision to allow specific subgenres as keywords, IMDb also set up "flags"* within its system that makes it extremely difficult to delete any keyword that happens to contain

Problem

C'mon, (C'mon) IMDb, what are you thinking re genres, subgenres and keywords?

When it comes to genres, subgenres and keywords, why is IMDb being so illogical, even defying its own guidelines and encouraging unnecessary, cluttering repetition? It makes no sense. KEYWORDS SHOULD NOT REPEAT GENRES BY COMBINING THEM. “war-romance,” simply (and obviously), combines two genr

@Michelle I think IMDB should have a subgenre system but ultimately, they're not the same thing as keywords and should be handled differently.

Move Plot Keywords off the main page as they can be spoilers

Plot Keywords often contain spoilers. Example: transsexual showing up on "The Crying Game" effectively hints at the entire point of the movie. There are plenty of other examplesIt seems like it would be best if spoilers were not on the main page?
