Move Plot Keywords off the main page as they can be spoilers

Plot Keywords often contain spoilers. Example: transsexual showing up on "The Crying Game" effectively hints at the entire point of the movie. There are plenty of other examples

It seems like it would be best if spoilers were not on the main page?

Spoilers cannot -- and should not -- be omitted from the list of keywords.  Keywords are intended to represent the content of a title.  If you don't want such spoilers, don't look at the list of keywords until AFTER you have seen the title.

Hi, Phil Boroff. We're not asking for them to be omitted. We're asking for them to not appear on the title main page of a title entry.

The old Title Reference View (and the old Title Combined View) covered up the keywords sample in mouse-event-driven display-toggling tags. What I'm observing is that in the new system, the keywords are ordered differently across Title Default View and Title Reference View, and in the case of The Crying Game, the keyword "transsexual" shows up in reference view but not in default view, for that particular title entry.

It looks like the reference view lists the first keywords without 'relevance' ratings, which is pointless.

@Peter_pbn That is correct that the reference view lists the order of up to 5 keywords without regard to "relevance" ratings.

However, the order of keywords listed on the reference review is not always dependent on which keywords were added to a title first in time. Rather, the ordering can be somewhat random.

You may have noticed when you add keywords to a title that only has a few keywords, all with zero relevance ratings, sometimes your newly added keywords are displayed at the top of the keyword page, while other times in the middle, and still other times at the end. I have not yet figured out how this ordering is determined, but it seems to be largely random. The chronology of when keywords are added does seem to be a factor, but not the only factor.

Anyway, it is that (likely largely random) ordering that determines the up to 5 keywords for display on the reference page, without regard to relevance ratings.

I used to be annoyed by this (because as you point out it is pointless), but over time I have gotten used to the different ordering on the reference page versus the keyword page, which can often give me a new perspective on a title's keywords when I prepare to "audit" them. I might notice different things when I look at the first 5 keywords on the reference page than I would if I look at the first 5 on the keyword page.

Either way, I wouldn't mind if IMDb were to fix this so that the top 5 "most relevant" keywords are displayed on the reference page. But I'm not going out of my way to ask for that change.

I also don't endorse the idea initially posted in this thread about removing keywords from a title page. I like having them on there. But I don't feel strongly about it either way.

I was just going to post the same thing as I am encountering these unintended spoilers more frequently.
