Several of my keyword-related posts over the past few months are still unresolved. I know the IMDb staff are busy with more important stuff, but I just wanted to make sure my lists are not forgotten.

@ACT_1 Something tells me IMDb staff would not go for that idea. I would love it if they would, though.

So if the search numbers are accurate, only about 10% of the posts in the Data & Policy category involve keywords. I don't know that this warrants a whole new section just for keywords.

The real issue is that IMDb staff seem understaffed right now. My posts of duplicate keyword lists are highly dependent on staff to take action on keywords at mass levels, yet that doesn't seem to be happening lately (except for a mistaken action that literally happened in response to an April Fools' joke).

Truth be told, I could post my duplicate keyword lists at a rate at least 5 times faster than I have been posting them. I have been purposely slowing down my lists to let IMDb staff catch up with me, but unfortunately that isn't happening.

Hi keyword_expert -

Apologies for the delayed reply.  Unfortunately, until we have a better mechanism in place for reporting and cleaning up these keyword issues, they must be done manually by IMDb staff.  Additionally, merging and auto-converting Keywords can be a timely process, which is why we are a bit behind in catching up with all your more recent posts/requests.

Rest assured that we will get to them shortly, additional team members have recently been trained to help handle these keyword requests, so within the next few weeks I'm expecting to be fully caught up in closing these older threads.

Thanks for your patience!

@Michelle Thank you for the update, and no worries. I figured that was the case. I just didn't want my keyword lists to be lost or forgotten about.

@Michelle Is there a plan yet for resolving these threads? I have substantially slowed down my postings of duplicate keyword lists for the past several months, to allow the staff to catch up. Any projections on when that will happen?

@Michelle@Bethanny

Is there a plan for resolving these older threads?  They have been pending for as long as five months. The delay on processing them slows down my own volunteer work for IMDb. Each time I encounter a set of duplicate keywords that should be merged, I have to research whether I have already reported the duplicates on this forum and whether they are still pending, before I know whether to add them to my private list for a future public post. Although this isn't the end of the world, it does cumulatively add many unnecessary hours to the time I volunteer for IMDb.

Even if IMDb were to process these posts at the rate of one post per weekday, it would make a huge difference and the backlog would be cleared in short order.

@keyword_expert Hi!

Yes we are working on all of the older threads as fast as we can, some of them are already in process. We appreciate all the time you take to do all this lists, we are doing our best to take care of them.

Cheers!

@Bethanny

We have again reached the point where some of these posts have been pending for as long as five months. In the meantime, the situation with keywords is slowly growing into an unruly mess; there are many other keyword problems that I have refrained from posting about, given the current moratorium and backlog.

Is there any update on when IMDb staff will resume the ability to make mass changes to keywords?

Hi @keyword_expert

We sincerely apologize for the delayed response in circling back to this older keyword proposal request.
We regret that we are unable to take the requested keyword actions raised in this thread and will be marking this as Closed. For more information please review our recent and more detailed response on this previous thread. Again, while we truly appreciate the requests, we are sorry we cannot assist further.
