Good idea, quite difficult to make the research. I used IMDb advanced search.

9. The Wizard of Oz (1939)

PG

8. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

PG

43. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

PG-13

9. The Godfather (1972)

R |

5. The Evil Dead (1981)

NC-17

@mariojacobs ,

One way of finding films is to use IMDb's advanced Title search.

  1. Go to https://www.imdb.com/search/title/
  2. Under Title Type select Feature Film
  3. Under US Certificates select G (or other rating)
  4. Under Your Ratings select Restrict to Titles I've Seen
  5. Click the Yellow Search button at the bottom of the page
  6. Click Your Rating

You should get something like this as a result:

Feature Film, US-G, Restrict to Titles I've Seen (Sorted by Your Rating Descending)

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&certificates=US%3AG&my_ratings=restrict&sort=my_ratings,desc

Of course, this assumes that you rate the films you see on IMDb.

@khadafimahfud8 I haven't seen Fury. But I'm curious why a WWII could have made it NC-17. Unless it had an insanely gory version. I mean over the top gory (comparatively speaking towards other war or WWII movies).

Fury (2014) is rated Indonesia:NC-17 (self-applied)

For the purposes of this poll, I suspect that @Scholle2008 would prefer the MPAA (US) ratings:

Rated R for strong sequences of war violence, some grisly images, and language throughout

@dan_dassow , Yes, maybe you have a point, because in Indonesia there is a law on violent and naked scenes. For example, I watched Oppenheimer in theaters, and the undressed scene of Florence Pugh was censored with CGI, maybe the same as Fury, so if other countries think the scene in Fury is very brutal, maybe in Indonesia it is partially censored.

PG: The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

PG-13: Weathering with You (2019)

R: Akira (1988)

@Scholle2008 It was the only one I have seen so I chose but I'm not particularly fond if it. I won't make a choice for NC-17.

Thank you

@Scholle2008 Maybe amputate that list. I'm not even sure I seen the NC-17 rated version of Clerks. I first watched it on a VHS rental.

Any X-rated movie (e.g. A Clockwerk Orange, Midnight Cowboy or RoboCop)?

Search here: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?certificates=US:X&sort=my_ratings,asc

I really do not have a favorite X-rated or NC-17 film.
