FAQ: Updating Threads After Poll Goes Live

Once a poll has gone live, the original author of a thread needs to edit the first post in a thread to change the thread type from Idea to Praise. This helps admins and other users tell live polls apart from suggestions. It will also be helpful to change the title to indicate the poll is live.

Unlike Get Satisfaction, users on Sprinklr can still edit their own posts after someone has responded to a post. IMDb Champions and Poll admins with admin rights can only edit their own posts.

This is an example of how to edit the first post in a thread once the poll has gone live:

Original Sample Poll Suggestion Thread

Hover over the three dots in the upper right hand corner. You should see Edit and Delete in a box in the right hand corner.

Click edit. You should see something like the following:

Edit the post:

  1. Change the type of the poll from Idea to Praise. This will clear the Category and Topic.
  2. Update the title by changing "Poll Suggestion" to "Live Poll"
  3. Optionally add a link to the live poll.
  4. Set the Category to IMDb
  5. Set the Topic to IMDb Poll

You should see something like the following:

Click the yellow Post button. This should save your edits. You should see something like the following:

I must admit that I'm in favor of this new forum. I like how I can edit my posts after writing and I like the responsibility to edit my PS' to praises myself. It feels more flexible to use it. Specially for editing a Suggestions Intro and something like that. It took a time to get used to it. I'm sorry, if it takes 10 or 12 hours or more before I'm editing my suggestion to praise, because I'm working several hours a day and sometimes have some private activities. Please be patient. I won't loose it.

On the other hand some things in the forum look weired and on the old forum I instantly knew if I errase a mail message in my mail-programm or not. It got a little more complicated to know if the mail is necessary for me. In the old mails there was so much information in the title to better decide what to do with. ;) Now I watch every mail to know.
