Wow, I haven't even looked at the female list yet because the male list blew me away. As someone who loves all genre of  music, it's very difficult to choose one because you listed so many different styles. Frank Sinatra is jazz, Chris Thile is bluegrass, John Denver is folk, David Gilmour is prog rock, Udo Dirkschneider is heavy metal, etc., you get my point. Each of those genre are so different from the other, I guess a person COULD choose one favorite over-all, but I don't think I can. It was a fun list to look at though and I do plan to check out the female list.

Also Natalie Merchant, Sinead O'Connor, Nina Simone, Aimee Mann, Phoebe Bridgers, Etta James, Fiona Apple, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, & Heather Nova.

(For years, I would have said Natalie Merchant and while she still has my favorite voice, I like Van Etten's work more than Merchant's recent work so I listen to Van Etten more now.)
