Wendy Torrance and Mike Enslin are victims of the place they have to stay. The other characters are on the bad side, the "active villains". Tallahassy is a good guy (human) in a badguy world (zombies).
Horror most times is a matter of good and evil. Ash for example is a victim of bad occurences. He is the good guy. Anton Phibes is the active villain. But they are all horror movie characters. ;) I wanted to clear this in a short sentence. ;)
I corrected the text and added "or her". That's my german grammar. "Der Charakter" --> "the character" is male in germany. I treated it like "the actor", which can be an actor or an actress. ;)

I had some Bhut Jolokia, made a chili of it. That doesn't 2 times, it burns three times. Not only on the back, but on the front, too - if you know what i mean. That's not really for eating. I read, there is a new one (2017, Pepper X) that has 3,18 Million Scoville Units of strenght!

I think your suggestion with the Carolina Reaper chili sounds best for the # in the poll, because it sounds really bad. Bad peppers for bad girls. ;) But Habanero is a sort of chili like Bhut Jolokia. It as it's own name. I don't get it, why writing the one big, the other not. That's complicated, maybe because I don't get the point why.
P.S.:
I've seen "to shrive" is an acient term, basing on the romans language that spread all over Europe and changed here and there by changing in each country and mixing up again. It means something like the german "die Absolution erteilen".

Here is a short story for your amusement.

My German instructor from high school conducted month long tours of Germany and Austria at an extremely low cost during the summer.

At the time the drinking age was lower in Germany than in our state. Some of our class went to a bar called the Hexenturm. The bar was crowed and very warm. One of the young ladies made the mistake of saying “Ich bin heiss.” instead of “Es geht mir heiss.” She was lucky that one of her class mates rescued her from receiving unwelcome attention from a young German male.

I guess you mean she better have said: "Mir ist heiss". "Es geht mir heiss" doesn't fit. If you are sick, you can say "Mir geht es schlecht." That's tells one, you are sick anyway (probably without having controll of it). "ist" is a little more direkt, makes things actual. It's bad, that I can't find the right words to tell you the difference. Maybe my explanation makes it more complicated. I hope you nearly can imagin what i meant. ;) "Ist" ~ "it's"

She could have said: "Es ist mir zu heiss hier drin." That means that she feels the place (temprature) is too hot for her. (e.g. Sauna). Everybody knows then, she wants to open a window to cool down or go outside to cool down. "It's too hot in here". I'm astounded to recognize, that americans would let away the "me"-form. Am I right?
