Duryea's transformation from a naive tenderfoot
to a stone cold killer is truly astonishing.
He uses a sawed off shotgun with deadly results
and there's one scene where he's drunk
and caressing his weapon like a phallic symbol across his lap.
The meaning is rather obvious.

Dan Duryea               ... Willie Duggan
Rod Cameron            ... Johnny Liam
Buster Crabbe           ... Mike Clayman
Fuzzy Knight             ... Captain Luther
Johnny Mack Brown ... Sheriff Green

I would have to figure out which one almost always captures defendants in good condition. I'm not sure if I care about escaped convicts being returned alive, though. If I worked as a judge or an enforcer for a tyrannical regime like the Galactic Empire (vis-à-vis the Sith), I would probably be more friendly to the idea of sending corrupt bounty hunters on missions (like why would I care if the bounty hunter doesn't make it back alive when facing down Jedi), but otherwise the corrupt ones should be avoided.

Clint should have more properly been listed from For a Few Dollars More, where his character was all about bounty hunting. In GBU, he was running a scam and hunting for treasure.
