Only parts of IMDb can go defunct, not the whole thing, for now. I do recall the website going offline (such as the domain name resolution failing or something) for maybe an hour, one unremembered day a year ago.

I've whitelisted the domain name, and I see that notifications only show up on the IMDb Community Forum hosted here on Sprinklr. They're not being emailed to the email address through which I'm registered here, for some reason.
