So basically you're just confirming what she already stated? (Not sure what the 'ur' specification is about.) Michelle, or anyone at IMDb, please provide an explanation when you can. If not, I suggest offering a warning that a username cannot be used again for eternity upon attempting to close your account/profile. I had a duplicate and chose to delete my newer one with the username I planned to transfer to my original since my original had all my saved content. If I had known that would be impossible, I would have kept the newer one and taken the more arduous route re-saving my watch list. Thanks, all!
My discussion doesn’t concern any type of page, or getsatisfaction.com profile/username. Just the one you create on IMDb.com to save a watchlist and rate titles. Sorry if this community deals with multiple branches related to IMDb. It just seems to be the only support resource available. Ah, look at that, on desktop, I’m now able to find their Contact Us option. Thanks all!
Thanks cliffj, yours are legit. Watch list is fine since I went with my original, but the username, miguelagawin, from the new one I deleted, is gone with the wind. #tear (since this platform rejects emojis—without telling you I might add.) (I also understand 'ur's and 'nm's now found in URLs...even though there was never a need to.) Someday this will be fixed, like one's permanent PSN username. For now, I must settle for hoping, and move forward to the rest of the evening.
I endorse the implementation of a feature that allows a person to change his/her IMDb handle to an alphanumeric string identical to one used before, but the circumstances would have to be limited, in such a way as to make it hard for one person to impersonate another without that other's consent.
