PS: Jesus Hairstyle

Intro:

In some movies the main character has free and untamed hair like Jesus. Same for strong supporting characters. Which of these characters is your favorite? Discuss here.

Rules:

No tv-series, documentations, animes or animated movies, the hair should be at least shoulder length, the movie character should have a full beard. All hair has to be blond, brown, black or red. No white or gray hair. Jesus was in his 30s when he died. Skin color: each! It's about hair, not skin.

Thank you, Dan. :D
Gimli is on the list. Maybe there is a slight chance to find a better image, but without helmet. I'm searching for - or did you already?

I've put a more shiny image for Gimli on the list. It is a good idea.

First, According to me, this poll is pointless since the interpretation of Jesus in art is varying on the local interpretation.

Example: An paint of Jesus made in Ethiopia will not look like the Salvator Mundi of Leonard Devinci.

Second, It is very unlikely that he looked like the way you depict it, it is common to represent it in catholicism, but according to scientists. it is very more unlikely that he would look like a European.

A more accurate representation of him would be:

This image was constructed by a team of British Forensic Experts led by Dr Richard Neave in 2001

You can read the integral article
there: https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/health/a234/1282186/

This is why I'm opposed to the idea that Jesus had curly long hairs and that I believe that the poll itself is inaccurate since it is closed to the other interpretations of Jesus in other cultures.

“Jesus of Nazareth” https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075520/...

If you are going to do Jesus, do JESUS!:

- “King of Kings” (at least one from ether of the two film versions. I chosen from the landmark orginnal film version which had the first technicolor scenes in Hollywood history, the resurrection scene: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0018054/... (don’t use https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0018054/... ).

From the 1961 remake: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055047/... (eventhough the movie was in color, man does Tab Hunter looks good in this black and white photo.)

- “The Passion of The Christ” ( this the cleanest you will get because the rest of the movie he has blood in it) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0335345/...

Forget Moses!

I have a few more but you might not want them because they are pirates from the Pirates of The Caribbean series:

- Captain Jack Sparrow https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/...

- Captain Hector Barbossa : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/... (That is the best you are going to get unless you want the pictures of him turning into the ghoul cursed pirate in Black Pearl.)

- Captain Teague https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/... (Sorry but I just had to post this one of Kieth Richards as Teague playing “Spanish Lady” on the guitar) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/...

Okay, I didn't make clear enough, that I'm talking about the stereotype Jesus hair. No tv-series.

dgranger 'The King of the Kings' is on the list. Jesus from passion of the christ was the first on the list. I'm now checking your other suggestions and may put htem on the list. Thank you for suggesting. :D

Captain teague and Jack Sparrow dont't fit for it, because all of the bling bling in their hair and the hats also don't fit. Captain Teagues lip-beard has a special form of fashion that didn't exist in Jesus times. That came very much later. The form of his mustache doesn't look Jesus-like.

Barbossa is the most close candidate, but he's pretty old on the picture. His beard is brown, so it reaches the definition, but I'm searching for an image without hat.

There are a couple for all three but sparrow and Teague also were a bandanna too (which did exist the Jesus’s time but historical movies don’t offend portray it). You mentioned the bling. I how ever thought the braids or dreadlocks would have been a problem.

As I said, it's not about historical correctness. It's about the typical stereotype of Jesus' hairstyle. You are right with your issues. I'm struggling with myself about the dreadlocks and braids. But the bling bling is a clear no-go for Jesus hair. If you'd compair it with the horror genre, it would be like vampires that glitter in the sun. Eeeks! :(

I would make confessions about a headscarf, if the hairstyle is (stereotype)-Jesus-like recognizeable. I think braids can be ok, if their're not too dominant. Jesus might have had brothers or sisters, which could have made him braids. ...

... Now I'm thinking of kicking #13 (the rasta prophet)

... When I take it exact, the braids have to go either for the stereotype ones.

Ok, guys. What about minor braids that are optical not dominant  should count - Like Gimli and Thorin?
Rastas: no!
The dude-problem: Beards that look Jesus-like at the first impression count. I didn't get the beard-problem at the dude on first look.
But still no bling-bling.
That would be a compromise. ;D

And this one is just to joke mess with you as in a joke. Don’t look to closely at this one because it shows King Herod with cornrows In his hair and his son, Herod Antipas, with bling bling in his hair. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0762121/...

Joseph has no bling bling in his hair. What I've seen he seems to fit the rules at one look. At this image we can see he has hair reaching to his shoulders:

As Bond, he had the same hair style in a few short scenes in “Die Another Day”, and then haircut and shave to return to his own sauce style. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246460/...

But I recommend not to use him for the above reason ( only for a few scenes), and this one too: this is a type of poll of each actor once is best so as to not split the vote for that actor.

Nice picks. ;)
I know Betty White just from tv and some movies. I think she is a lovely person and a fine comedian. Her signature role is Nylund so every Betty White option is a little homage to Rose Nylund / Betty White. I hope she is fine. We can also think about a male Betty White option. Maybe Stan Laurel? ;)

Being one of the Founding Betty White Option members, I can safely say that Betty White is a mere construct. A vessel that can take many shapes and forms and personages.

Let all the many multifaceted beingness that is the Betty White Option multiply and blossom into an infinity of nonanswer answers to whatever question you and others ask here at the IMDb Poll Board.

FYC:
Connor MacLeod in Highlander (1986)
Connor MacLeod and General Katana in Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)
Frank in Donnie Darko (2001)

Side-note: I often had this hairstyle in 2000's and 2010, but than ponytail started to dominate. I probably should use untamed hair more...

Sorry, Nikolay, but no, no & no. None of them is Jesus' style haired.
It's not only long hair. The stereotype also says full beard, raw.

Thank you Buddy. :D
Just had a 10 hour day, because I'm working in a system relevant job.

Other jobs are shut down because of the corona thread at the moment, such like barbers, discos, cinemas, construction markets, electro markets and so on. They have to be closed at least until April 20th, we will see what's then. On the streets there are only two people allowed to meet, e.g. me and my wife. If there are three people standing together, they have a good chace to take a warning from police. If they don't bend to the rules, it can cost up to 250,- bucks / each person. People who had no contact before should stay away in at least 2m distance. At the moment, streets are empty like I last saw about 30 years ago. People may leave they home for buying food, (only) necessary medical treatments, bringing out the rubish, Walk with the dog, things like that.

But now I worked on the list. Please remind me, if I forgot something. :)

Breumaster,

I was rather surprised that one can buy Kopi Luwak at Walmart for the bargain price of $13 for 10 grams (or about $590 per pound or $1,300 per kilogram).

Or at Amazon for 35,- $ for 200gr. It's like all good things getting cheaper when there is a market for it. And a market contest. ;) There is a company that bought the right from indonesia to research the chemistry of the animals intestinals to copy them and use them on coffee-beans. It's no surprise that it will get cheaper.
