Hi Hoekkie,

There are a lot of updates to make in your poll board suggestion thread:

https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdb-poll/all-imdb-poll-board-poll-suggestions-please-contribute/6038f128cf34dc641c517e96

Unfortuntately, I can no longer edit posts by other users, so I was thinking, if you don't have the time to frequently update the thread, I could create a new one, since I'm always around anyway.

@Jessica Hi, I think that is a good idea!

I'm not around that often anymore. So I felt a bit quilty that I made this thread but didn't maintain it. So if you want to do it, then that's great!

Let me know when I can delete the thread.

@Hoekkie

Done! You can delete the original thread.

Thanks, and don't worry about it - it's a great idea and I'm glad I can keep it alive for you. :)

Hoekkie, you'll still respond to notifications (like from name drops), though, right? I usually try to check in at least once a month.

C'mon, man. What is up with the absurdist spoofs? Those kinds of movies are intentionally rubbish, except they are expected to make people laugh, so the only time a spoof is really awful is when it fails to even do that. The ones made by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are just nauseating and boring, almost not funny at all. Talk about killing a genre.

I love "Larry the Cable Guy; Health Inspector"

It is a horrible movie but is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

I don't know. Should we maybe exclude absurdist spoofs? The idea behind this whole thing is to point out movies that ardently tried to be serious but failed miserably, like Rawhead Rex, except that one is just plain terrible and fails at being frightening to anybody older than five years old.

@jeorj_euler

That's the idea. This movie was torn into pieces by critics, but it was really bad and cheap looking content with even cheaper stories. But it also was funny how they mocked. I don't know which I would pick instead. Maybe Mega Piranha.

Ok, wait. I saw that movie more than 10 years ago. I want to skip Movie 43 and pick Mega Piranha instead. It's such an unintentional funny mockbuster, I laughed my *ss off. Please just watch the trailer, omg! ;D

@riverotter Your link goes to Steve McQueen image from Wanted: Dead or Alive (1958)? Freudian slip?

Anaconda (1997)

Anaconda, starring Jennifer Lopez and Jon Voight, is a tough one, since the premise isn't too far fetched, meaning that a better execution could've resulted in a better movie. Even though the computer-generated imagery was somewhat lousy, the animatronics were decent. In way, the movie wasn't terrible enough to be so bad that it is good.

Difficult to pick because I watch a lot of bad/terrible movies under the Mystery Science Theater or Rifftrax umbrella (with their respective riffing commentary tracks).

Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)

Nevermind that. Make it Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966). Simply on the streng... (oops) weakness Torgo alone.

Manos: The Hands of Fate is laugh-out-loud unintentionally funny. Since Tsar chose the weaker / stranger of the two films, I will suggest Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957).

Another along that line would be lesser known Ghost Shark, but I've not seen it, only excerpts, so I don't how it would altogether stand up against so many other ridiculously hokey movies. Apparently children are denied the usual plot armor in it, so that maybe makes it extra hilarious, not to mention that the monster's ability to emerge from any puddle of water of any size is nearly limitless.
