@olisilumea Welcome to the IMDb poll board and thanks for your suggestion.

One advice is that you should try to have clearer parameters for your suggestion. Polls are limited to a maximum of 35 options, and there are literally millions of characters created in movie history so asking about "best character ever" is quite difficult if not completely impossible.

What would be the criteria to choose just 35 characters with such a gigantic number of options to pick from?

@olisilumea Great, it looks much better now.

When you have the chance please edit the title to capitalize it like this:

What Is the Most Memorable Character of the 2000s?

That way it will follow the IMDb style rules.

The image of Hannibal Lecter is of the 1990's movie.

If you want to avoid to be criticized, it's better to take a Hannibal Lecter image of the 2000s.

Like That or That.

But to be true, Thomas Harris wrote Red Dragon in 1981, so it would be a 1980's character. If you relate to the 2000's movies, the two I've linked would be ok.

I guess Barbie would be very unforgetable.

There wasn't any wide range catching Barbie-movie before.

What about Rick Grimes, Cercei Lannister, Ned Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Jesse Pinkman, Gustavo Fring?

I gues that subject is too wide to pack it into one poll.

I don't think the title reflects the list. Some of these characters are from before 2000, like Michael Corleone and Indiana Jones. The Game of Thrones characters are from the 2010s.

Maybe it's better to only include characters from the years 2000-2009?

@olisilumea

Thanks.

The 21st century started 2001, so Maximus needs to be removed since Gladiator is from 2000. And maybe the image Wolverine could be from the sequel: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290334/mediaviewer/rm3911094016

More to consider:

Carrie Mathison

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1796960/mediaviewer/rm3517136384

Omar Little

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0306414/mediaviewer/rm577786880

Dexter Morgan

The twenty-first century still lasts for more than 75 years! Isn't it a little early to state the most memorable character already? If you'd say the first quarter of the 21st century, it would be much easier to accept. I think it would also  be better. You could also claim the next quarter for making the suggestion now and correct it later, when the quarter is over. Let's look how long we'll live. I hope medicine will conserve us for that date to overlook the whole century. ;D

If you ask me for that Quarter:

George Valentine and Peppy Miller from the Artist, The King's teacher in King's Speech, Thanos, Mother and The Man from Mother, Walt Kowalski, Maggie Fiztgerald from Million Dollar Baby, Howard Hughes from the Aviator, Hugh Glass from the Revenant, Nina Sayers from Black Swan, Ellie from Up. And many very good others, too. Some of them are on your list.

Got an idea: Why not make a little poll-series of it on that Quarter that still runs?

35 Messages

poll-series like Part 1/Part 2?

8.8K Messages

@olisilumea

Yes, but I think more like "... in the First Quarter of the 21st Century".

Part 1, Part 2 is a little ... I don't know how to say. ...

That would be a formulation I would choose for Polls that come together in a rush.

But these would be first considered close after 2025, I guess.

And the other would be considerable short after 2050.

That's a long term project you want to start. ;D

@olisilumea ,

The word Century should be capitalized in the title for your list.

Please change the title of your list (https://www.imdb.com/list/ls540560678/) from:

What Is the Most Memorable Character of the 21st century?

To:

What Is the Most Memorable Character of the 21st Century?

When in doubt about capitalization, use this online tool:

Enter your title and select:
"Title Case" and "AP".

Bryan Cranston (Walter White) was great, as was Breaking Bad. A very entertaining show however, it was greatly exaggerated but hey, that's entertainment.
For me and it's not even close:

Omar Devon Little WOW! When I watch The Wire I look forward to every scene that the "Rip n Run" "Livin' One day at a Time" Shotgun wielding anti-hero is in.

RIP Michael K. Williams.
