Rise of the Planet of the Apes is not a remake of the 1968 Planet of the Apes, in any case it would be a prequel.

Yeah, something like that. Both are derived from the same source material, one being a more direct film adaptation, whereas the other representing how the sapient ape civilization came to replace the civilizations of homo sapiens sapiens, but there are some crucial things  (like the surface of the world getting destroyed, nuked even) that don't provide any implication that the two series of movies within the greater franchise share the same story continuity. There are some fans, probably very few, who believe that all of the Planet of the Apes movies are connected, in the sense of the explanation that the ending of Tim Burton's version pertained to the earth apes having a separate but simultaneous uprising as the ones on the planet on the other side of the worm hole, but like whereby Caesar and Koba ran the San Francisco revolution, whereas perhaps Thade (or his same-named descendant) ran one in the District of Columbia, maybe ultimately conquering North America. Somehow the Upper Bay off New Jersey would factor into it too. I don't know how much the three versions of the franchise actually contradict each other, except for the variations of how long humans managed to stay in power, even enslaving the smartened apes, before losing the ability to maintain a sophisticated way of life, the roles completely reversing.

I just found out about Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. This is somewhat exciting to me, since of all the sequels, prequels and reboots infesting the cinema of the 2010s (and apparently the 2020s), the new Apes franchise has been among the least lame, unless I'm forgetting something.

I did also like Fury Road and Blade Runner 2049, though. I'm hoping they don't have sequels too soon.

@khadafimahfud8 ,

The Poll Admin Tool is complaining that the description for one or more of your choices is too long. Most likely it is 13. Casino Royale (2006). The description field for this choice is 2,348 characters long.

I recommend that you use this shorter way for film links:

20th Century Franchise: [link=tt0055928], [link=tt0057076], [link=tt0058150],[link=tt0059800], [link=tt0062512],[link=tt0064757], [link=tt0066995],
[link=tt0070328], [link=tt0071807], [link=tt0076752], [link=tt0079574], [link=tt0082398], [link=tt0086034], [link=tt0090264], [link=tt0093428], [link=tt0097742], [link=tt0113189], [link=tt0120347], [link=tt0143145]

This renders as:

20th Century Franchise: Dr. No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964),Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967),On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983), A View to a Kill (1985), The Living Daylights (1987), Licence to Kill (1989), GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999)
