Good poll, but I think it might be better to exclude options that aren't related to fiction (Guinness World Records and Col Needham).

@Breumaster,
This choice is a tad insensitive and probably too close to real events even though the film itself fictionalizes the tragedy.
Titanic.... you survive while half the passengers die. Also, you may wish to define the term. Here is a simple definition that should be suitable for your poll. Making it is achieving a state of widespread and undeniable notoriety or success.

Hi Breu, I really liked this idea immediately but a few of the options didn't make sense to me. The whole of it has grown on me, though, feeling more cohesive than it did at first. And the writing is really good, as well as the title. Bravo.
I'll suggest one thing, though -- putting the title in title form:
