If there's any subgenre I didn't add, suggestions are welcome.

@Vandurath ,

For your consideration:

Magical Realism:
Distinct from standard fantasy, this genre introduces magical elements into a realistic, mundane setting in a way that characters treat as normal. It often focuses on metaphorical or social commentary rather than "world-building" or epic quests.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

Gaslamp Fantasy: Similar to Steampunk, but instead of focusing on industrial machinery, it focuses on a Victorian or Edwardian aesthetic with an emphasis on mystery, manners, and magic. It is often described as "historical fantasy with a Victorian feel".

Penny Dreadful (2014)

Flintlock Fantasy: A subgenre that combines magic with technology from the era of black-powder weapons (17th–18th centuries). It often features gunpowder-based warfare alongside traditional magical systems.

Shadow and Bone (2021)

Bangsian Fantasy: A specific subgenre focusing on the afterlife. It often features famous historical figures interacting in a comical or philosophical way after death (named after John Kendrick Bangs).

The Good Place (2016)

Wuxia: A traditional Chinese genre centered on "martial heroes." It blends adventure and historical settings with elements of supernatural martial arts and internal energy (qi).

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

Fantasy of Manners: A subgenre where the plot revolves around the social rules, hierarchies, and etiquette of a secondary world, similar to a Jane Austen novel but with magical elements.

Stardust (2007)

Mythological Fantasy: Stories that retell, reinterpret, or are heavily grounded in existing world mythologies (e.g., Greek, Norse, Egyptian) rather than creating an entirely new, independent secondary world.
Clash of the Titans (2010)

Dystopian Fantasy: While often categorized under Science Fiction, this subgenre specifically features worlds that are broken, oppressive, or post-apocalyptic, where the "magic" or power structure serves to reinforce the misery of the setting.
The Hunger Games (2012)

There is also Dreamscape Fantasy, where the goings on of the movie are the products of a somewhat "off kilter" mind or exist only in the imagination and/or delusions of the character.  I would think that The Fisher King would be a good example of this.

Some genres sound a little odd, like Science Fantasy, or Low Fantasy. But It's fresh idea, so what?

@Breumaster
Totally agree with you. I don't know who called it Low Fantasy. Sounds like some subgenre of low budget/low quality fantasy movies. ;D
