Pebbles Flintstone, only daughter of Fred and Wilma Flintstone, was born at the Bedrock Rockapedic Hospital on the February 2nd, 10,000 B.C.

This was one of the most notable moments in TV history and the first time in an animated TV series where a character got pregnant: The Blessed Event (1963), episode aired in 1963.

Marcy and Jefferson announce that they are expecting a baby, sending Al into pearls of laughter saying that it's the end of Jefferson's life, until Peggy announces the same. Al begins to lose his hair at an accelerated rate, thinking it's the end of the world for him. Kelly and Bud aren't pleased with the news either and take it out on Al.

@mariojacobs

Looks like they are only announcing the pregnancy in that episode. Is there another episode where the actual birth takes place?

@Jessica ,

For your consideration:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_Goes_to_the_Hospital

"Lucy Goes to the Hospital" is an episode of the 1950s American television show I Love Lucy in which the title character, Lucy Ricardo, gives birth to a baby boy after a chaotic sequence of events. Twelve hours before the original broadcast on January 19, 1953, the actress who played Lucy, Lucille Ball, had given birth to Desi Arnaz, Jr. by cesarean section. The episode had actually been filmed on November 14, 1952.

@Jessica ,

Thank you for adding I Love Lucy (TV Series) - Lucy Goes to the Hospital (1953).

You may wish to exclude soap operas, since births are a common affair on such serial dramas. Although, you may still wish to consider Soap (1977–1981).

  • Parody of television soap-operas--the show's humor relies on exaggerating soap-operas' characteristic plot implausibility and melodrama to ridiculous extremes, then adds a fair bit of the truly bizarre, including some remarkable characters.

Soap (TV Series) - Episode #2.17 (1979)

Corinne gives birth to a gorgeous baby boy; at Jodie's apartment, Alice shows herself to be a Jewish mother; Burt vows to prove his innocence to the disbelieving Mary; Chester finally regains his memory and heads home to his 'loving wife named Jessica, and a fine young son named Benson.'

Sadly, there are no images for that episode.

You may also wish to exclude Call the Midwife (2012– ) for somewhat obvious reasons.

I just remembered this classic Star Trek episode:

Star Trek: The Original Series (TV Series) - Friday's Child (1967)

The Federation clashes with the Klingon Empire over mining rights to Capella IV. A sudden coup between its warrior-minded inhabitants forces Kirk's party to flee with the now dead leader's pregnant wife.

DeForest Kelley and Julie Newmar in Star Trek: The Original Series (1966)

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Friday%27s_Child_(episode)

In the cave, Kirk uses one of McCoy's magnasite-nitron tablets to start a fire, lighting the inside of the cave. Kirk and Spock leave McCoy there to supervise the birth, while they search for weapons. Eleen expresses frustration that the child will belong to the husband, and she does not want it to be born. McCoy attempts to convince her she wants the child and that it belongs to her. By the time Kirk and Spock have weapons fabricated, Eleen has given birth.

Disappointed that the episode of Community, Applied Anthropology and Culinary Arts, where Shirley gave birth during Anthropology class was overlooked.

@Tsarstepan

Sorry. I'll wait a day or two to see if there are many zero vote options, and maybe I can replace one with the Community episode.
