Live Poll: Who is the Last Doctor You Want Treating You

The List Page: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls501787061/

The Poll Page:

https://www.imdb.com/poll/PhY2npdgK18/

While almost doctors are good, these are not your friendly, caring, and loving doctors of the medical and psychological field like Dr. Kildare or Marcus Welby. I guarantee that these are the last people you want to be your doctor. And to make it more sneaky, I’m not going mention what they have done. I’m going to post the most professional pictures of them and let you, the fans, figure out exactly who they are. Which one is the last one you want treating you?
And if you got any more to add to this list of malpractice, report them here.

Didn't see Dead Ringers and Dr. Giggles, but  Anatomie is a good pick. It's up to dgranger to decide. I just come to think of The Dentist. Awkwardly lowdown bad.

@Breumaster I was thinking of him! I just thought nobody would remember the film Coma. I have trouble with “Dr. Cook’s Garden” because I’m sure nobody would remember Bing Crosby playing a doctor who mercy kills his terminally ill patients.

Dr. Harris is one of the worst doctors ever. If I would have to create a word for him, I would call him docturd Harris. ;)

@Breumaster not going to look at that one until much much later. I want this poll to be as fresh and different as can’t be. I thinking maybe Victor Frankenstein or dr jeckyl

I see you suggested a real historical figure. I did too. Dr. Gull. But there is another in the film “From Hell” that is real and he did create a crude form of lobotomy that was actually practiced. Good taste told me not to use him.

I would say yes, if there would be a good taste in doctors. But there is no taste in doctors, there are only good, bad, mediocre doctors and much greyzone inbetween. If it is, because after the happenings in WWII no one would accept Dr. Mengele as a doctor, then I would say it's totally acceptable fact. The choice of  Mengele seems very rude and somehow it is rude, provoking. And I understand when you don't feel good about him. So cut him out. I don't see him as a doctor, either. Even though he was officially stated accepted as a doctor in the Third Reich. For me, he is a plain sadistic torturer and I understand when he is too provoking for your idea. It was somehow ironic for me to even see him be called a doctor. So the choice was also ironic.

@Breumaster I think you mis-read me. I was talking about dr. Ferral https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120681/mediaviewer/rm2721885441/

his form of lobotomy was real and practiced.

And what are you going to tell me with that? Is your message that the Nazis weren't so bad, because their friends did the same, but just more of it? Seems like the Third Reich was pretty tempting to some people all over the world in that times.

3.4K Messages

 •

85.5K Points

@Breumaster no. I wasn’t saying that either. I did put Mengele on the list. I consider both monsters. The difference is mengele was condemned while Terral wasn’t. Terral was praised and even encouraged. His method of lobotomy, at one time, was standard practice. He is considered as one of the major suspects of being Jack the Ripper. And what is worse is, since he treated many of the Jack the Ripper suspects once they were declared insane, many people think that if Terral wasn’t Jack the Ripper, he knew who was and he took that secret to the grave with him. As the film, “From Hell” portrays, many think that he had operated on sane people to keep them from divulging sensitive government secrets. Hell, he is going on!

Mengle wasn't condemned. He fled to Paraguay before he should face jail and a court of law. Later he movied to Brasilia. He suffered a stroke in 1979 and drowned in a bathing accident. The bad deeds of both came up and both died as free persons.

On a side which is registered in Waldorf, Maryland?

Waldorf sounds pretty much German. I read that the city of Waldorf was renamed for honoring

William Waldorf Astor (1848–1919), the grandgrandchild of Jacob Astor (1763–1848), German aristocrat. It doesn't change the fact that Mengele died as a free man, never touched. As many of them did.

I'm always very critical about German history, because there are many people who want to misrepresent German history to tell it wasn't as bad as it was. It sometimes is hard to pick out the truth and the later it gets, the harder it gets, especially in the times of internet.

I not. I read a book which was the translation of the transcript of the Franhfurt Auschwitz trial of SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Robert Karl Ludwig Mulka and the several people that were tried with him, including several of the camp doctors that were tried with him. Dr. Lucas figuratively pointed his finger right at Mengele. Before I lost that book, I had used it to show jerks who claimed it never happened that it indeed happened. Nothing was more brutal and starkly true as those transcripts were. It just presented unvarnished facts and the defendants’ own actual statements. It left the reader to decide guilty or not.

I think Ratched would be a good choice, if she was a doctor, but she was only a nurse.

@Breumaster no. She is ok. The idea was people who practice some type of medicine or psychology and not people who are more like mad scientists in fields out side of medicine or psychology. To me, dentistry and nursing are medical sciences deal with patients and the health of the human body. Sometimes, I wonder why dentistry and nursing are not considered as a part of doctoring. They should be.

In the book, she was able to decide if certain medication was needed to calm down a patient. In that ward, she has more power than a doctor.

That still doesn't make her a doctor. But ok, it isn't my idea, is it?

Would you mind if I used “His shot is not a vaccination for COVID-19” in the description even though it would violate my own condition of not mentioning what they have done. I would have to mention that he was a dentist. I would have to quote it as “A dentist whose shot was not a vaccination shot for CoVid-19.” I might have to change the picture to make the curious wonder what the hell we are talking about and make them research the IMDb.

ps. I might to edit this eject some more made scientists doctors and add at least two of the roles from Mel Brook’s “High Anxiety”. Nurse Diesel

Howabout ? ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procaine

Procaine is a local anesthetic drug of the amino ester group.

Procaine was first synthesized in 1905 - too late for our Doc
It is most commonly used in dental procedures to numb the area around a tooth
Owing to the ubiquity of the trade name Novocain,
in some regions, procaine is referred to generically as novocaine

... Dentists, however, found it very useful...

... Routes of administration: Parenteral
administered by some means that avoids the gastrointestinal tract,
particularly intravenously or by injection...

Wiki:

On October 26, 1881, Holliday was deputized by Tombstone city marshal Virgil Earp.

The lawmen attempted to disarm five members of the Cowboys near the O.K. Corral

on the west side of town, which resulted in the famous shootout.

Maybe take him off your list ??

@dgranger,

Thank you for making the changes. We already saw that you made them prior to this poll going live.

I saw this possibility last night (September 16, 2021) on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2015– ): DR. Acula. Since the poll already has 35 choices, I am not suggesting that you add this choice, but I did find the choice humorous.

I discovered since last night, that there is a punk rock bank called Dr. Acula:
