BRUCE CAMPBELL for the film and the recurring character. Runner-up is his severed arm in Evil Dead II for one of the greatest sight gags in film history.

Regan. I don’t believe those infected with lycanthrope qualifies as possessed. You may want to check this out https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/13-possession-movies-so-scary-theyll-make-you-look/2900-2087/#3

Suggest “Christine”.

@dgranger

The classical catholic way to describe lykantrophy is simply possession. Thomas von Aquin (1225 - 1274, A.D.) , one of the most influencing catholic philosopher & most important theologian of the cath. chruch, held the thesis, that lycanthropical beings are possed by the devil. They are described with a German word that has no direct translation in English. They are "Scheinwesen". It would be fake-creatures, but that doesn't fit proper if re-translated.

Zuul Ghostbusters? Vinz Clortho the key master?

or in other words:

Dana Barrett? & Louis Tully?

I put them both on the list.

If you thought on another Zuul and Vince, please tell me. :D

Wonderful. I thought about mentioning Gozer, but the woman whose body it presumably inhabited was never identified. Just to note, as a mild spoiler, in the sequel, Ray Stanz wound up being momentarily possessed by the principal villain therein who was adamant about permanently possessing Dana Barrett's infant son. I'm no fan of the 2016 parody attempted reboot, but I did take note that the theme of people being possessed by evil spirits apparently was hardly absent, and the way it played out was comical as intended, with the villain forcing people to dance, kind of like a hammed-up ripoff of Bettlejuice, and "hammed-up" in the sense of how a whole platoon of on-duty national guardsmen danced. Fun but a stark tonal difference from the original Ghostbusters.

That's very intersting, Jeorj. Would you like to suggest one ore some of them?

Hmmm, I thought was an homage to The Mask.

The Mask: Cuban Pete dancing police scene.

You're right, dgranger! Good catch! I forgot about the "Cupan Pete" dance, with the police force! Haha! Yes, much more of a reference to The Mask than Bettlejuice.

I feel like we're also missing Isaac when he was possessed by He Who Walks Behind the Rows: "Malachi! He wants you too, Malachi. He wants you too." I wonder how many of Stephen King's characters have been possessed. Outside of King's work, there is also Azazel who spent a whole feature-length movie hopping from body to body, antagonizing a police detective.

@jeorj_euler

May that be from  'Children of the Corn' or 'Salem's Lot' ?

It could be that I know it, but just don't remember. Please, would you put links about the characters to your suggestions? It would make the consideration very much easier. Thank you.

Isaac and Malachi are characters in Children of the Corn, yes. The moniker attributed to a demon who cannot last long in the material world without a host in Fallen is "Azazel". I'm not sure which of Azazel's hosts is most notable, iconic or interesting.

Are Isaac & Malachi really possessed or just especially bad fanatics? I never found out, but would count them to the fanatics. In 'Fallen' I would have to put several people on the list, according to the synopsis.

In the movie Children of the Corn, Malachi is never shown being possessed. In fact, only Isaac is shown experiencing this, and it is somewhat graphic. This is all slightly spoilerific, since most of antagonists of the story are motivated by fear, psychological conditioning or outright brainwashing, and only toward the end is it much clearer just as to what everybody is so afraid of, when the big boss is revealed.

Come to think of it, I'm having second thoughts about Children of the Corn, because of Isaac's words, "He wants you too." Why would the demon refer to himself in the third person? So, maybe the demon didn't possess Isaac but only resurrected him as revenant with superhuman strength.

Breumaster,

I do not know whether Get Satisfaction being down is a temporary problem. I reported the problem to IMDb staff. It seems that Get Satisfaction being down caught them by surprise.

As a long term measure, it would probably be a good idea to update your discussion links.

Good, creepy poll. I don't know who will get my vote yet, in part, because it's too scary to look at all of the characters, lol. May I suggest one small edit?

FYC:

George Miller in Retribution (1987) (likely my vote if it gets featured, despite some favorites included; this movie is a superb and impressive hidden gem and Dennis Lipscomb's performance is a power to behold)

Ice-Cream Man in Legion (2010) (although this movie features a horde of people possessed by murderous... angels)
