I can see people gravitating toward three roles right out of the gate. I uploaded some pictures for you for two overlooked roles (plus a couple other recent films and TV series) that I think will make her top ten, if not her top five.

FYC, I think you should add her single episode guest starring role as Mrs. Gillyflower (pics) in Doctor Who, The Crimson Horror and her role as the Mother Superior (pic) in The Painted Veil (2006).

Most Rated Movies and TV Shows With Diana Rigg

FYC,  Also, these notable Diana Rigg roles and recent titles are worthy of adding or at least consideration and now have pics to go with them. She had roles in You, Me and the Apocalypse (2015) as Sutton (pics), Victoria (2016– ) as the Duchess of Buccleuch (pics) and Breathe (I) (2017) as Lady Neville (pics).

My vote: Regan in King Lear

May I suggest two small edits to the intro? (below in bold: ladies ---> women and an added comma after (2011)) (the intro is very good, btw)

I've put in the links for 'The Avengers' and "Game of Thrones". I'm sorry.

I guess they were lost by the copy and paste-action. ;)

@Breumaster ,

Thank you for making the edits that Ruby suggested and for restoring the links.

I would also like to echo Ruby's thank you for creating this timely and well written In Memoriam poll.

I made up 2 suggestion, which vanished. The new forum is like a wonder lamp. Are there rules?

Searching for a better word for the 2nd "powerful". Do you think "versatile" would be better?

@Breumaster ,

May I humbly suggest this re-wording.

From:

She was a powerful actress who portrayed strong ladies and even got knighted for it. From The Avengers (1961) to Game of Thrones (2011) she portrayed powerful characters and even played the mate of James Bond in 1969.

Thank you, that's very kind.

I re-wrote it in the list by copy and paste. :D

That way it reads best, I think.

@Breumaster ,

Thank you for making the edit. I you wish you can still add the link for The Avengers (1961) and Game of Thrones (2011) in your introduction.

Dan? Can you explain what Accepted Solution means? It's clearly a new forum feature that has come along for the ride here at sprinkler.com. It appears near three separate posts.

Tsar,

"Accepted Solution" is somewhat nebulous. From what I've been able to tell, either the original author of a thread or an admin can designate a reply a an "Accepted Solution".

Dan & Stephen:

I did. I clicked the box under the suggestions you did.

(Peter's, Jessica's & Dan's) So all three have the green feature "accepted solution".

I clicked, because I thought it would be reasonable.

I klicked the boxes under your replies/comments so you got the feature "Accepted Solution".

The weirdest thing is that if you are the thread author, you can mark your own replies as "Accepted Solution".

Anyway, I don't think this feature should be allowed under "Idea", "Praise" and "Question" posts.  Only a problem can have a solution.

"Anyway, I don't think this feature should be allowed under "Idea", "Praise" and "Question" posts.  Only a problem can have a solution."

That would be the appropriate way to handle this feature.
