Live Poll: New Year’s Day or Eve films

The list page: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls086846946/

and maybe the poll page (if the IMDb chooses it): https://www.imdb.com/poll/ToeSfn8UaFk/?mode=desktop&ref_=m_ft_dsk

At this time of the year, there are a lot of polls about Christmas movies or Oscar predictions or best films of the year. But what about films that have New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve in them? Well, here is one now (or another one, if someone else has done one). Which of these films that have New Year’s Eve or day is your favorite?

If you want to join the countdown, this where they are singing “Auld Lang Syne” and to quote one of the films, ”Kissing the old year out. Kissing the new year in.””

Just starting the comment section. The reason why I had included “An Affair To Remember” was that it was my mother’s favorite movie and she made me watch every time it came on TV. I hated it because I thought it was too soapy. I preferred Cary Grant’s other New Year’s film, “Room For One More” (or “The Easy Way”), which is more relatable and more realistic.

Can anybody suggest a good one.
Also, Happy Thanksgiving given the circumstances this year with CoVid. Don’t let it destroy you celebrations.

From the ones that I have seen recently.

FYC:

While You Were Sleeping (1995)

Strange Days (1995)

I think Sunset Boulevard (1950) probably features New Year's Eve, but it's been long since I have seen it.

No, but you did remind me of the Poseidon Adventure. So that was added.

Rudolph's Shiny New Year gets my sentimental vote, lol, but I'll probably vote for one of four or five films on here that are really so good: The Apartment is in the lead, as of now. What a great film.

Yeah, I figure that and “Sunset Blvd.” would be near the lead. But now the comedian in me is going to say “The Apartment is a great film!?! What about the others!!!! ‘Room for One More’ and others are just as great!!!!” Actually, the quote that I had used in the intro comes from “Holiday Inn” - the song Bing Crosby sings in the kitchen on the night the inn opens, New Year’s Eve. Yup, Irving Berlin wrote a little song for New Year’s Eve too.

I can’t believe that nether one of the “Shoe Boat” movies is getting a single vote when the play has one of the best poignant uses of New Year’s Eve and New Years I have ever seen. Even the song Magnolia sings at the Tropicana club, NYC, “After The Ball”, has sad lyrics in it that reflect on her life in that moment in the story.

Here are two clips from that section of the story. Without giving away too many spoilers, just remember that the man in the audience, Capt. Andy Hawkes, is her father who came to the club in order to cheer on two other former members of his show boat troop on their opening night at the club, and finds his daughter there as well.
