Live Poll: Latte Macchiato, Please!

Intro:

Your are about to enjoy your breakfast at a Café or Diner and you realize today your waitress is a filmstar.

And she wears the same dress like she did in the movie you saw.

From which of these nice ladies would you like to get your coffee and Pancakes?

Discuss here.

Suggestions:

Like the examples I stated, please give me a link to a best as can image, limit for the options this time is 35, because of less text for the voters. Please only movies, not animated, no documentations. Please point it out to me, if this suggestion already exists in that form.

@mariojacobs

Mario, first I want to thank you for your input. I'm a little finicky about mixing up movies and tv-shows. I seperate them strictly in my polls, at least most of the times I edit a suggestion-list. Same for movies and games, or tv-series and games. So please in future read in the description if I ask for movies, or tv-series, or in seldom cases both. This time I stated movies only. But I must admit that tv-series actresses might not be wrong in this special case. So I will turn this rule down. Even though my feeling about is a little negative. Well, I threw my hat over the wall.

Very good. That's even twice done: An actress who plays an actress wo plays a waitress.

I found a better image of Roseanne's clothing. I hope you don't mind that I exchanged it.

Thank you, Mario. I've put her on the list, but with another photo. On the one you linked, her legs are cut 1/3 up the knee. It doesn't look good in the square view. The one I've put on the list is a close-up. I think she looks much better like that.

@Jessica

Excellent! How could I forget them? Idgie and Ruth and their perfect barbeque.

Afterwards I would have been sad to forget them, when the poll will have gone live.

Special thank you for the two nice bees and Debora. All three options are on the list.

If you want to mix movies and tv series you should probably edit the line: like she did in the movie you saw.

FYC:

Audrey Tautou in Amelie

Virginia Madsen in Sideways (Oscar nominee)

Julieta Zylberberg in Wild Tales

From classic movies, Judy Garland in The Harvey Girls

Thank you, Pencho.

I'll put all four of them on the list. I even know which two ladies have to leave for it.

Breu, your list includes TV characters but the intro only mentions movie.

Although, since there are only two options, maybe it's better to leave them out? Or make a separate poll for television?

Jessica, you're right. I had a discussion with Mario about that. Because he is relatively new and may not know how the users are, I did this time an amen to him and skiped the rule by comment. But on the other hand, when I think of it - Roseanne is the only tv-series-waitress. Your idea of making a second poll is very good. So I'll do that and erase Roseanne off the list. There will also be a tv-series poll. Maybe it won't have so many options, but let's try.

Reached 35 options. From now on only better examples are taken by me.

A BIG Thank You !!! to all contributors.

(and I would prefer black and Asian waitresses, if there are still suggestions. Both groups are under-represented.)

'Great poll, Breu, and, as someone who waited tables for a long time, including twice at coffee cafes and once at a diner, it's fun to see a poll like this. Oh, btw, I love the title!

I was going to suggest Jennifer Lopez's character from 'Enough' but there's no appropriate photo. If I find one to upload, I'll do that but those usually take a while to be approved. If it goes through quickly, I'll leave you a post, just in case you want to add it after this goes live.

(She is a woman of color, though, which you said were under-representecd, so I'll do my best to find a good image. : )  If I think of other women of color who had roles like this, I'll let you know.)

I uploaded a photo of Jennifer Lopez, dressed as the waitress, in 'Enough.' It's a good photo that seems like it would crop well; I'll let you know if it's approved.

It wouldn't be a good job for me. I would mix up the orders. And I'm too honest sometimes. Later they'd pull out the torches and pitchforks to drive me away. A chinese quote says:

"The one who always is honest, will be busted out of 10 villages." ;)

(hope it's translated good enogh)

Your suggestions are on the list 35 reached. So I will delete one of the lesser good candidates for Mrs. Lopez.

Btw.:

The 2nd IMDb Top 100 poll reached 283 votes by now. If the idea will be extended completely, you should know that I will start my preparings for the health resort at June 16th. From there on, it might be that I'm not longer contactable for 3 to 5 weeks. It depends on the circumstances there. So after that date, I can go ahead with the idea at the earliest at beginn to mid of July.

I remember Halle Berry was a waitress in Monster's Ball, but I can't see a image of her at work.

Hi Breu, the image that I submitted for Jennifer Lopez's character was denied. The only other appropriate image that I could find for her has the studio's imprint on it so it would definitely be denied.

I found one image for Halle Berry in Monster's Ball that might work ('good suggestion, Pencho!) -- she has her waitressing uniform on but she's outside instead of inside the restaurant:

Halle Berry as Leticia

Thanks for the update on the "Top 100" poll and when you won't be around. A health resort sounds very nice. I hope you enjoy it!

... And, indeed, waiting tables is not a job for everyone, lol. Most of the people I know who tried it, quit after a few days. I thought it was fun, though, especially when it was busy. I probably wouldn't tolerate it as well, now, though: when I was younger, I almost never got angry at anyone, including rude customers. I don't think I could be so patient now, lol.

Ok, Ruby (and Pencho). Halle Berry is on the list. I may even sacrifice two more of the other Ladies for a black or Asian waitress, because they are still under-represented.

About the health resort: German's health care system is - beside the one of the Swiss' people's -  one of the most efficient and social on earth. I'm so glad living in Germany. If I was in America, I would drown in overdues. The health resort is fully paid for a few weeks. Just have to pay 10 bucks each day for the bed. That's called "Zuzahlung" (extra payment) I hope for the Americans that they will have that too, someday in the future.

Back to waitresses: It's a job for young, healthy and calm people. Later it's better to have a more stressless job. But on the other hand - some people need and search the stress. Some died on a heart attack, when they didn't get their stress level after retiring.
