@K_PAXTON ,

Thank you for adding Lucy and Lionel.

I realized that I posted the wrong link to the article. This is the correct link:

https://www.looper.com/221131/actor-injuries-that-were-written-into-storylines/

I really hoped that IMDb had an image of Claudia Christian as Ivanova with a broken foot, much like this image.

Claudia Christian as Lt. Commander Susan Ivanova in Babylon 5

Dan.

Question....

Is 41 live polls out of 53 suggestions a good effort?

I try to be unique.

After watching others. I try not to be the same. Is that working for you, Jessica, Peter, and Pencho15?

Should I do anything different?

Thanks,

The scene when Batman broke the legs of the gangster Maroni by throwing him from the rooftop of the club.

According to the tags of IMDb, the leg of Niki Lauda in Rush also was broken.

I can believe that, because he had a real bad racing accident.

Elijah Price had any bone broken in his body, according to the story. He literally has bones like Glass. But it's not exactly mentioned, if his legs were broken, too. Look at him, he sits in a wheel-chair, so the probability is high.

Tried this.................

It is inaccurate. Keywords are up to the interpretation of the submitter. I trust almost nothing when it comes to keywords. There are intelligent people that add keywords and the are person with an 80 IQ adding them!!!!! IMDb has no way to weed out the bad additions from these persons. UrbaneMovies suggested I use these methods too. Don't you think I thought about that and tried that already? Hmmmmmm!

I am asking for help here with actual characters that broke a leg and it was a major plot point. Ones that you remember. And an image. Check out Dan Dassow's suggestions above for reference please.

Thanks

How do you define a "broken leg" for purposes of this list?

If you mean a broken bone in the leg, I think it's unlikely that The Karate Kid qualifies for your list.

It is unclear whether Daniel-san's leg is actually broken during either of his final two fights. More likely it was just sprained, because there is no way he would have been able to finish the fight with a truly broken leg.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7_L3w4vOJk&t=164s

By the way, keywords can be a very good starting point for finding relevant titles. That's what they are there for. While it's true that low-IQ people (and trolls) can add bad and false keywords, there are also a lot of people like myself who spend a lot of time correcting those bad keywords.

Keywords are what you make of them. If you summarily dismiss the entire concept of keywords as inherently useless, then your approach will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

p.s. I also note that a bunch of the titles you have added to your list in fact contain the "broken-leg" keyword as provided by @Breumaster. This proves the value of keywords (again, as a starting point for finding relevant titles).

Keywords always need to be verified, just as The Karate Kid example shows. That title has the keyword "broken-leg," but also "leg-injury" which is probably more accurate.

Finally, regarding Seabiscuit, I'm not sure that any bones in Seabiscuit's leg are broken, either. According to Wikipedia, the real-life Seabiscuit had a "ruptured suspensory ligament in the front left leg." And Wikipedia describes the Seabiscuit character in the film as having a leg "injury," not a broken leg.

To capture these characters, you would need to broadly define what "broken leg" means.

My suggestion for your list is Tom Smykowski of Office Space. He breaks a leg, and a whole lot more.

Quote:

Tom Smykowski: [Smykowski is in a full-body cast] Just remember, if you hang in there long enough, good things can happen in this world. I mean, look at me.

Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066921/mediaviewer/rm3019807233/

And guess how I remembered that title?  Keywords!  Specifically, this title has the keyword "leg-cast."

And on that note, here are some keywords that may help you (these have been on my private list for a potential mass merger for a while):

leg-in-a-cast (82 titles)
leg-cast (98 titles)
leg-in-cast (34 titles)

Wish there was a photo of her in a cast!!!!!

Most of the photos already included in your list don't show any casts or injuries. This photo shows her immediately after her leg breaks -- that's why she is laying flat on the ground.

@keyword_expert ,

Thanks for helping with this poll. Maybe someday, you could suggest a poll yourself, possibly related to your area of expertise, IMDb keywords.
