My Architect (2003) is one of my all time favorite documentaries. I'm glad I own it on DVD.

Please include "The Day the Clown Cried."  After filming, Jerry Lewis had all copies locked away with express wishes that it not be seen.  It is about a Jewish clown that entertained the children in the Nazi death camps.

Now that Jerry is dead, there is the possibility that it may be released.

@J-man ,

The Day the Clown Cried (1972) is the first film I thought of.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_Clown_Cried

The Day the Clown Cried is an unfinished and unreleased 1972 Swedish-French drama film directed by and starring Jerry Lewis.[1] It is based on an original screenplay by Joan O'Brien and Charles Denton, from a story idea by O'Brien, with additional material from Lewis.[2] The film was met with controversy regarding its premise and content, which features a circus clown who is imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp.

Lewis repeatedly insisted that The Day the Clown Cried would never be released, but later donated an incomplete copy of the film to the Library of Congress in 2015 under the stipulation that it was not to be screened before June 2024.[3] According to Lewis's son, there is no complete negative of the film, and outstanding copyright issues have prevented its release.

This one is one you can't stream in Germany on whatever causes:

'Stroke of Death', aka 'Hurra, die Knochenbrecher sind da', aka 'Chu long ma liu'.

I really would like to buy and stream it in future, but it isn't available in Germany, especially not with the German dub I like so much! Great Shaw Brother's movie! Germany is waiting for.  ... at least a niche of fans. ;D

It seems to be available in America at least – as Monkey Kung Fu.

@Peter_pbn

It would be very interesting in how many countries it isn't streamable, isn't it? I did search for it for decades, even ordered seemly discs from england and other countries, but didn't get exact this movie. The only stream I could watch is illegal, so I won't do. Just got an old VHS recording from Arte - or was it ORF2? - at home. This was at a time when it was normal to directly record movies from Television Broadcast. But the quality is really poor. There are often classics like that which vanish slowly from the market. I guess the American market is more versatile.
