@mariojacobs,

For your consideration:

Hennesey (1959–1962)

United States Navy physician, Lt. Charles W. "Chick" Hennesey and Navy nurse Lt. Martha Hale are assigned to the hospital at the U.S. Naval Station in San Diego, California.

McHale's Navy (1962–1966)

These are the adventures of the misfit crew of PT-73 during World War II. They're one of the best fighting crews in the Navy, but break regulations when it suits them. Their commander, Lieutenant Commander Quinton McHale (Ernest Borgnine), is at times as roguish as his crew, but he puts his foot down when things go too far. They are assigned Executive Officer Ensign Charles Parker (Tim Conway), who is by-the-book, but too much of a klutz to command too much respect. They have a house-boy Fuji Kobiaji (Yoshio Yoda), who deserted the Japanese Navy, who wears a P.O.W. outfit, just in case he's caught, so he won't be shot at. Their nemesis is Captain Wallace B. Binghamton (Joe Flynn) and his aide Lieutenant Elroy Carpenter (Bob Hastings). They're initially stationed in the South Pacific, but moved to Italy in the last season. — Tony B

Bat Masterson (1958–1961)

Dressed-up dandy (derby and cane), gambler, and lawman [Bat Masterson] roams the West, charming women and defending the unjustly-accused. His primary weapon is his wit (and cane) rather than his gun.

Cheyenne (1955–1963)

After the Civil War, nomadic adventurer Cheyenne Bodie roamed the west looking for fights, women, and bad guys to beat up. His job changed from episode to episode.

The Lone Ranger (1949–1957)

The lone surviving Texas Ranger who was nursed back to health by the Potawatomi tribesman Tonto. He rides with him, on Silver and Scout, throughout the West, doing good while living off a silver mine which supplies him with income and bullets. —Ed Stephan <stephan@cc.wwu.edu>

Maverick (1957–1962)

Bret and Bart Maverick are well-dressed gamblers who migrate from town to town always looking for a good game.

The Rockford Files (1974–1980)

James Garner stars as the offbeat Jim Rockford, an ex-con-turned-private-investigator who would rather fish than fight but whose instinct on closed cases is more golden than his classic Pontiac Firebird. From his mobile home in Malibu, this wisecracking private eye takes you on the cases of the lost and the dispossessed, chasing down seemingly long-dead clues in the sun-baked streets and seamy alleys of Los Angeles.

Quincy M.E. (1976–1983)

Quincy and Sam are working as Coroners. Inspecting dead people they often see facts that don't match the theories of the police how or if really they were murdered. —Wolfgang Klimt <wolfii@leo.org>

Crossing Jordan (2001–2007)

A "sexy, brilliant" Boston medical examiner. Despite a checkered career, Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh goes above and beyond to solve cases.

Kojak (1973–1978)

Lt. Theo Kojak is the main character in this popular television police drama. Kojak is a tough cop, but his trademark is a fondness for lollipops. Despite his difficult work, he tirelessly brings criminals to justice while staying upbeat and good-natured. —Tad Dibbern <DIBBERN_D@a1.mscf.upenn.edu>

Cagney & Lacey (1981–1988)

Two female police detectives [Cagney and Lacey] cooperate with each other both in their professions and in their personal lives.

Rizzoli & Isles (2010–2016)

Detective Jane Rizzoli and Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Maura Isles team up to solve crimes in Boston.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993–1998)

Michaela Quinn, fifth daughter of a Boston physician, defies the conventions of post-Civil War society by following in her father's footsteps, and after his death, 'Dr. Mike' moves to the frontier town of Colorado Springs, where she finds the citizens less than thrilled by the concept of a woman doctor. While she struggles to earn their trust, Mike's life is complicated by a growing relationship with mountain man Byron Sully and the unexpected responsibility of raising three orphaned children. —Marg Baskin <marg@asd.raytheon.ca>

Alias Smith and Jones (1971–1973)

Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry, two of the most wanted outlaws in the history of the West, are popular "with everyone except the railroads and the banks", since "in all the trains and banks they robbed, they never shot anyone". They are offered an amnesty on condition that they stay out of trouble for a year and that they don't tell anyone about it. With a view to keeping their noses clean they adopt the identities of Smith and Jones and use all of their ingenuity keeping out of the way of the law. —Anonymous

Blossom (1990–1995)

This teenage sitcom is named after its main character, likable schoolgirl Blossom Russo. It centers around her life at school and at home, where she lives with her single father, charming musician Nick Russo, who tries hard to be an exemplary parent, and her two elder brothers, the cool Anthony, the eldest, and sweet but rather weak and naive Joey. Her best friend, Six LeMeure, who is educationally neglected at her home and thus is almost always around at the Russos as well as at school, is the voice of mischief and thus often her partner in crime. —KGF Vissers

Pee-wee's Playhouse (1986–1991)

Pee-Wee Herman and his friends have wacky, imaginative fun in his unique playhouse.

The Shrimpenstein Show (1967)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhY_4AcI60c

A hosted horror kids show from KHJ Channel 9, Los Angeles, California, USA screened from 1967-1968; with Gene Moss as Dr. Rudolph Von Schtick and Shrimpenstein voiced by Jim Thurman.

The Howdy Doody Show (1947–1960)

The first nationally televised American children's TV program and a prototype for what followed. Buffalo Bob Smith hosts while the puppet, Howdy Doody, stars.

@ACT_1

thank you for your suggestions, I added 10 more titles, this list criteria are letters from A to J, if published, I'll make another list of suggestions with K-Z titles.

And out of curiosity...

Later, via his first film appearances in 1938, the Ranger’s back story was even more fully fleshed
out. His real name was John Reid. He, his brother, Dan, and four other Texas Rangers had been
ambushed in the Badlands by the outlaw Butch Cavendish and his gang.

It's a good idea to make two lists, but isn't it better to start on the second list as well? You may have to add some additional criteria if there are a lot more suggestions.
