LIVE POLL: IMDb Poll Board Favorite Introverts

Which of the following famously shy introverts (from movies or TV*) as chosen by our esteemed members of the IMDb Poll Board is your favorite?

LIST:  https://www.imdb.com/list/ls568039821/

POLL: https://www.imdb.com/poll/yPxgQRPBOvY/

Must be a fictional main character and definitely not a cameo character. If you want to submit a side/supporting character, give me a decent/quick explanation and I'd likely allow it. Characters from live action and animated works allowed. For now, two characters per board member.

Jean Stapleton: Edith Bunker,

2

House (2004–2012)

Roseanne (1988–2018)
Martin Mull: Leon Carp,

Two and a Half Men (2003–2015)

I haven't watched one single episode of Big Bang Theory, but it seems to me that the whole cast may fit, from what I've heard people talk about the show...

@riverotter Why does he look like someone who the only word he speaks is his name? (Like Hodor or a Pokemon?)

Happy to add him to the list of weirdo introverts. Maybe Beorn can become friends with Komi.

@riverotter of those three, I'd say Scrooge is the most famous

Huh. I would have never thought Scrooge as an introvert. Live and learn. Added to the list.

Me neither, but he does live alone and doesn't socialize outside of business communication.

I'm something of an introvert myself (in the face-to-face context), but I cannot find a quick easy answer to this question.

@jeorj_euler No immediate hurry. I'll show you my poker hand.

I generally make poll suggestions based on works I love. Take the work(s) I love and work a poll suggestion around it.

It was just a coincidence that I've watched season one of Bocchi the Rock while also been binge reading Komi Can't Communicate these past couple of months. And what do they have in common? Both very uberintroverted characters.

AS for your potential choices? You can try to use the IMDb advanced title search (key word introvert and filtered with only things you've rated).

Take your time. I'll be looking forward to your choice(s).

Signed,

@dan_dassow Beautiful choice. Already added to the list. Let me know if you have a second nomination as well.

Note:

It's weird that I just got the email notification from IMDb minutes ago and not 15 hours ago as per your post's time stamp.

@Tsarstepan ,

Thank you for adding Walter Mitty.

I will have to give some thought to a second choice.

Introverts in films tend to hit my sensible string. The introverts that I have named have little redeeming qualities, they are not cute/likeable introverts like the ones already listed. You will not see a Breakfast Club or She's All That type of character in my list. The lifes of the character below are strewn with despair. And often, the films give them little hope for a better future. I guess the list below reflects what I think of myself 😢.

La belle et la bête may seem a odd inclusion. But, I have always seen its ending (especially Cocteau's ending) as an irony. It looked like the fantasm of a dysfunctional introvert. It is doubly saddening because it is too surreal to be true.

I have put in bold my favorites.

1- Marià from Teströl és lélekröl (2017)

Hmm, I know I'm forgetting several so I'll have to go over my list of films. I did think of Cait in 'The Quiet Girl' but nazmi already chose her.

The two others that came to my mind:

James from 'The Wonder Boys' but although he's a recluse, at least for as long as he's allowed to be, I wouldn't call him shy so I don't think he really fits.

Edee from 'Land' is definitely very introverted and reclusive but I don't think she's exactly shy so it's up to you if you want to include her.

I'll go over my list of films, though, which will definitely jog my memory.
