Live Poll: Game Changing TV-Series Since the 1990s

Intro:

Since the 1990s, TV-series grew more and more interesting for a wide audience. In the past there always were TV-series which set a new standard for the future. Each new series has to measure with them and in many genres the surveyor's wooden rod is set very high.

Which of these genre representatives had the biggest impact on it's genres?

Tell us here.

Suggestion:

TV-series, released at 01.01.1990 or later. No animated, no documentations - these might be better for a separate poll idea. No movies. The TV-series should have a rating of at least 8.0/10 and 150.000+ ratings.

@Breumaster,

I humbly recommend Babylon 5 (1993–1998).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_5

... Unusually for the time, Babylon 5 was conceived as a "novel for television" with a pre-planned five-year story arc, each episode envisioned as a "chapter".[2] Whereas contemporary television shows tended to maintain the overall status quo, confining conflicts to individual episodes, Babylon 5 featured story arcs which spanned multiple episodes and even seasons, effecting permanent changes to the series universe.[3][4] Tie-in novels, comic books, and short stories were also developed to play a significant canonical part in the overall story.[5] ...

Thank you for suggesting Dan. I've set the minimum number of rating to 150.000+

Babylon 5 has just around 30k. I was always remembered to obey my own rules, which is

compelling for being fair to the other fellows. I must admit that I didn't watch Babylon 5.

Seems like I missed a good show with it. I'll catch up later.

Many of these series has indeed set a standard for their particular genre and audience. I think these will fit your list.

FYC: Narcos (2015), Chernobyl (2019),  Sherlock (2010), Supernatural (2005), Fringe (2008), Black Mirror (2011),  Peaky Blinders (2013)

Added Chernobyl, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, Supernatural and Narcos. I didn't watch Fringe, but from the intro of its site, it reads like an expanded X-Files-clone. Thank you for suggesting. 25 is a good count. I'm not looking for more. But if there are even better examples, I would add them.
