"best movie" or (more exactly) "best moving picture"?

I think it is better to write "film" or "movie".

It is a funny coincidence. That 3 of my picks are consecutive years (1940, 1941, 1942), and a fourth is also in the 1940s (1944).

Thank you. You're totally right. Casablanca has jumped one year - like The Hurt Locker, which was made in 2008, but honored in 2010.

I corrected it, 1943 was 'Mrs. Miniver'. There should be no more glitches. But I'm open for necessary corrections. I guess I was a little confused about the two time stamps of 'Casablanca', which drifted apart.

Thank you, Cinephile. You're very attentive. But it's like 'The Hurt Locker', which was made in 2008 and honored in 2010. Casablanca was made in 1942, but honored by the academy in 1944.

Seems I forgot to state that I pick up the honoring year of the Academy, not the year when they were released or made.

I understand. But "Years Ending in 0" is too less. It should be clear in the title that it is about the Academy Awards. So I would call it: "Academy Awards: Years ending in 0" or "Academy Awards - Years Ending in 0". Another no-go from me would be: "Academy Awards - Year XXX0". ;D

Peter, the first ceremony took place in 1927, but it was only about the best actors not the best movies. I can change it to "In 1927 the first Oscar ceremony took place in Hollywood. They awarded the best actors. Later in 1929 The Academy started to also honor the best movies." Would that be ok?

... I changed the lists as an example. You can look at, if it's better now.

Changes it (in all 10 lists):

"In 1929 The Academy started to honor the best movies. This is an Oscar view on each decade the Film Academy honoured the best movie from the launch of the Oscars until today. ..."

To make it more clear and shorter, I've cut some text out and concentrated on the "best movie" part only.

Seems like the academy has one best picture too much, because then there were two best pictures in 1930, but none missing in 1929. One of them seems to be inbetween.

I guess the other parts will come live, soon. I just read your "not seen" list. There are several great movies on it, which wrote film history. I saw about 3/4 of them. Most of them I saw were a great experience, especially when watching them first time.
