Live Poll: The Most Wonderful Hollywood Actor Aged 55+

Intro:

Aging is a terrible thing for many people. I formerly made a list of
Hollywood actresses who don't need to hide, because they aged very well and when I made a second list because of the big response, there also was a call for a list of well aged actors. So this is the list of well aged Hollywood actors 55+. Which of them would you mostly consider as well aged man? Tell me about him.

Rules:

He has to be or have been popular.
He should be 55+ (I don't count on a few weeks difference, but not more than 3 month)
He should still live, the day it really becomes a poll. (in case of accidents, etc.)
He should also be a movie actor

List:

Hi, Guys. The 35 options are occupied. I made up a second list like for the ladys. From there you get to the discussion by link in the intro.

Hi, Dan.
I already made a second suggestion that goes beyond the scope. I guess I got 1 or two options free. Maybe I'll do a third suggestion. I'll try to put it on the second list. But sorry - rest goes to third list. ;)

Hi, Dan.

But sorry - rest goes to third list. ;) I'm a little bit confused about Ron Howard. Wasn't he mainly a director. Why did you put him on the list? Are Clint Howard and Ron Howard related? Keanu Reeves already is on the first list. Clint Eastwood already is on the second list. Thank you for the suggestion. :D

Ron Howard started out as a child actor. He is primarily known for his roles on The Andy Griffith Show (TV Series), Happy Days (TV Series), The Music Man, American Graffiti and The Shootist. Although he is now known primarily as a director and producer he continues to act. He has 89 acting credits.

Clint Howard is Ron Howard's brother.

I would like to double-like your comment, Dan. I dug a little deeper on the database and found that he is not only a great director, I admire. I also admire his daugther Bryce Dallas Howard. She's a great actress. We say: Der Apfel fällt nicht weit vom Stamm. I guess you might heared that when you were in Germany. Not on you, but maybe on other people. It's ... like father, like son (in that case daughter). I'll put Ron Howard on the list. And of course Bryce Dallas Howard. ;D
Even though I can't really remember a scene with him. Gotta look for him.

Breumaster,

Yes, the apple does not fall very far from the tree in the Howard family.

Ron Howard's father,\ Rance Howard was an accomplished actor with 280 acting credits. Ron Howard's mother Jean Speegle Howard was also an actress with 60 credits. Ron Howard frequently cast father Rance Howard, brother Clint Howard and daughter Bryce Dallas Howard in supporting roles.

Rance Howard and Ron Howard appeared in 53 productions together.

Jean Speegle Howard, Ron appeared in 8 productions together.

Maybe it would be better to restrict your lists to the most popular actors instead of just making more lists.

6.9K Messages

In fact that's a problem. There are only two on the list, who are a little lesser popular. Michael Biehn & Mark Dacascos. They both are not so hard runners. But the rest of them still did mainstream movies in the last two years.

Michael Biehn may not be a huge star, but to me he is still well known and remembered for playing Kyle Reese.

Ok, I'm just thinking of remixing the two lists again. I think the first list should be as good as the ladys list.

FYC:

Clint Eastwood: he's 89 and still directing, which is considered to be the most grueling and demanding job in the industry.

Jerry Seinfeld: he's 65 and could probably easily pass for 45.

Morgan Freeman: he's 82, looks great, and seems to have the energy of a toddler without the need for naps, lol -- he's acted in 28 feature films in the past nine years, plus has done work on TV and in directing and producing.

Sean Penn, who gets exponentially more attractive the older and more rugged that he gets.

Sidney Poitier: 92, looks great, and is apparently very active in charitable causes and justice work

Sean Penn is one of my favorites here, of course, after of Al Pacino.

I mixed both lists a little to get the more popular to the first list.
So your suggestion might be on the other list.

The intro seems to refer to appearance while the actress poll referred more to personality. Is this intentional?

Hi Peter.
I try to understand. It should be a counterpart of the ladies poll.
Where lies the difference? I can't see it. Sure the personality is as important as the appearance. What would you suggest? :D

Especially this part: "actresses who don't need to hide, because they aged very well ..."

I guess "well aged" in general can be interpreted in various ways, including appearance.

"Well aged" is the same term in both poll suggestions. I don't get the point where's the difference. Women can age as well as men and vice versa. Or is it the word "very" that lacks in the men's suggestion? I could also have written: people who don't count their wrinkles and give them names. Please give me a hint what you wanted to read. :D

The phrases I quoted are in the men's suggestions, but not in your two live actress polls.

You could use the same question as in the actress polls, but you can wait to hear what others think.

Oh, FYC:

Michael Keaton (almost 68) He's been the lead in two of the Oscar's Best Pictures of the past four years so I think he's earned a spot.
