FYC:

Mexican National Team star Cuauhtémoc Blanco had a unremarkable attempt at acting in a soap opera and later he jumped to politics.

Currently he is the (in my opinion terrible) governor of a Mexican state called Morelos.

Comedian Jimmy Morales was president of Guatemala between 2016 and 2020.

While she was first lady, the influence of Eva Perón in Argentina's politics was huge, she also started as an actress.

Also in Argentina, musician Palito Ortega was governor of Tucumán province.

... The Napoleonic Code of Monaco and the laws of the Catholic Church necessitated two ceremonies, civil and religious.[63] The 16-minute civil ceremony took place in the Palace Throne Room of Monaco on April 18, 1956,[63] and a reception later in the day was attended by 3,000 Monégasque citizens.[64][65] The 142 official titles that she acquired in the union (counterparts of her husband's) were formally recited. ...

Probably lots of writers became political leaders, but the text only mentions entertainers and athletes who were celebrities.

Maybe Prince Albert of Monaco could be included as a Bobsledder, he participated in all Olympics with Monaco's Bobsleigh team until he took over the throne of his country.
