My vote: Sister Kenny (1946)

Trivia: The picture of Sister Kenny shown at the end of the film was in the lobby of the Sister Kenny Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I had the pleasure of meeting Adm. Grace Hopper when she gave a talk at the University of Minnesota. She was a force of nature. Adm. Hopper handed out lengths wire that showed the distance that light travels in a nanosecond. Unfortunately, I lost my nanosecond wire in a move.

Very cool, she definitely belongs on the list. I was curious, you didn't mention how long it was, I had to look it up "speed of light is one foot per nanosecond". I know a nanosecond isn't very long, time-wise and how far a light year is, still I expected it to be longer.

I am having two issues with this series of inspirational women polls. One is the lack of current biopics, not widely seen biopics or no biopic at all for deserving women.15 Women Who Deserve Their Own Biopics  I guess male pioneers get overlooked too or proper credit isn't always given. The second is how to handle those that have big star biopics in-development and an older biopic: Mary Magdalene, Florence Nightingale, Dr. Marie Curie, Harriet Tubman, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Catherine the Great, Mary, Queen of Scots, Elizabeth I. I have phrased the questions generically, putting the focus is on the inspirational woman and featured, in most cases, the big star upcoming biopic, so I wouldn't have to change it. I also listed alternative or upcoming biopics that I am not sure are going to exceed the original in the notes. I am now running into a problem with projects in that are in development hell and may never see the screen, as well as, fast tracked female biopics or biopics I didn't know about coming out this year. I want to feature the biopic people most identify with that person.

How should this be handled and be pro-active in setting the poll up, as well as, updating it when new biopics come out?
I think the question is non-specific enough as poll voters are voting for either the woman herself or any one of her biopics, rather than a specific biopic title or the featured title, especially where all are listed in the answer option. So, I don't think an update would invalidate any prior votes. I would like some advice/direction on how best to handle this and keep the polls current?

Which inspirational [blank] female* in their field inspires you the most, or alternatively their biopic?

'Well- written great poll and tough choice. I'd say Norma Rae or Katherine Graham, or maybe Mary Jackson and the other 'Hidden Figures' women. I really like this one.

urbanemovies, for some reason (probably abundance of links) your message was caught in the spam filter. Not sure what to do with that apart from the fact that I've rescued it.

Thanks, likely the wiki quote hyperlinks were the cause.

i am more of a cut-n-paste thinker, not point in re-inventing the wheel, when others have said it all. The links are just a bonus.

Just a reminder:

Get Satisfaction implemented the spam filter because of substantial amount of spam promoting illegal video streaming sites, Asian casinos and highly inappropriate images. Get Satisfaction will probably not provide specifics on what triggers their spam filter to make it more difficult for spammer to evade the filter.

These items frequently trigger the Get Satisfaction spam filter.
