Live Poll: IMDb Poll Board User's Night Out With a Personal Star

Intro:

We thought about having a night out with our preferred stars.

Which of the IMDb Poll Board user's choice would mostly fit yours?

Please tell us here.

Suggestions:

Be free in your mind. Which star do you want to join on a night out and why? No borders, but just one pick per occasion. Date and/or chatter (, dinner, champion league game, whatever else but date). So all in all two picks per user. ---> I skip the two-per-user-rule. Now 3 picks per user!

I know Susan Dey from watching 'Looker'. Can you tell us more about your choice?

@Breumaster When I was a young teen, I fell in love with Laurie Partridge of The Partridge Family.  Every other boy/teen would fawn about Marcia Brady or the debate of Ginger or Mary Ann.  They would pick their favorite of Charlie's Angels or sister on Petticoat Junction.  For some, there aw Marie Osmond or the actress who played Buddy Lawrence (Kristy McNichol) on Family.  For me, it was always the very beautiful Susan Dey.  As an old man, I remember my first "true love" fondly.

It can be a date, but doesn't have to be. I wouldn't like to fumble with Beethoven, just would like to know more about him from first hand - unfiltered. So do you want a date or just knowing something? Please tell me. We could also enhance to two or three stars, that can be an option.

Mario, I changed the rules to two personal stars. Now it can be a date or chatter, dinner, whatever. I've put your both choices on the list. Thank you. :)

Do you want a second option on the list, which isn't a date, maybe a director, artist, business man, or actor?

@Breumaster Goldie Hawn.  I was a small boy when she was the dancing "sock it to me" girl on Laugh-In in the green bikini and I was enthralled.  She made a lot of funny movies and has always been entertaining.

Her brother's eys appear to be brown on the images. They don't really look the same pinning. Her sister has an approximatelly close pinning look, but not so strong like hers. The magic of Alexandra Daddario's eyes base on the cold steel blue color. Huskys often have the same eye-color. It's fascinating. She has an effect, even when you look on a photo of her. The strong black border around the iris of her eyes strenghens that impression.

Jean-Claude Van Damme for many reasons:

- he speaks French (broken but still)

- he speaks English (we can mix)

- he made my childhood

- he's deeper and smarter than what most people believe

- he loves to speak about life, love and trivial stuff

- he seems like a nice guy

- his insights about the meaning of life or how to succeed are sometimes so deep they get over people's heads

- he's one hell of a conversationalist

- I'd have lots of things to ask him (including a few karate moves)

etc. etc.

This is interesting, but could possibly be awkward in some cases, like when the star common to a body of some of your favorite works has a lifestyle, habit, personality, epistemology or business/charity/political reputation of which you don't approve.

Anthony Hopkins is an excellent actor who also happens to strikes me as a decent guy whom I might possibly idolize. (I try to avoid idolizing strangers, especially in the case of historical figures long gone, because more often than not I'd be setting myself up for disappointment.) I'm shy a person, though. So, no matter whom I'd be meeting, I wouldn't really know what to discuss. In fact, then next time I meet a celebrity, I think I would just try to acquire a photograph of us together and be on my way, and maybe, just maybe, seeking an autograph of the physical copy of the photograph sometime later if at all possible.

As for which celebrity with whom I'd entertain the idea of some level of romance, I'm thinking that I'd be much too embarrassed to publicize a decision of mine along with a line of reasoning on that topic. Plus, just because somebody is hot, doesn't mean that we should necessarily want to go on a date with her or him.

Would it be worth while to post hyperlinks to our IMDb registered user profiles? Often times, polls like this one include such clickables in the poll list descriptions. I've only ever had one poll board participant ask me about mine, one time.

@jeorj_euler

jeorj, I understand your whish very good. My main problem with it is that it takes so much time. If I would be retired, I would do it in each poll. But my time is very limited by being at work. I want to also take part on the other movie discussions, poll-threads - so I have to do amens by skiping that part. I'm sorry about that. I whish the day had 30 hours. When I search contents for polls, no matter if for my own or other user's polls, it takes so much time. Maybe when I got a left little time, I could do that. But then it's questionable if I do remember at that time-stamp. And the other thing is that I'm always using translaters to be as close as I can get to the point. My English has improved, but I still got a big lack of words and meaning-quotations. So I'm figuring out the best I can - and even then I do often look silly. ;) That all takes time.

@Breumaster ,

For your consideration:

J. Michael Straczynski

I've been a Babylon 5 fan and a fan of J. Michael Straczynski since the pilot episode, Babylon 5: The Gathering, aired on 22-February-1993. However, it is alleged that the Universe would implode if we ever met face-to-face.

Martin Scorsese

I think Marty could show me a good time in New York; we would probably see a movie, maybe meet some of his friends for dinner in an Italian restaurant, and talk about superhero movies

@Peter_pbn ,

It would be great to have lunch at Katz's Delicatessen and dinner with Martin Scorsese at Sardis.

The closest I have got to New York City was when a flight I was on to Boston was diverted to Newark, New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport. This was almost 50 years ago.

Since there are free options, I skip the 2-picks-per-user-rule. Now everyone can pick a third free option until the list is full. Now 3 picks per user, the old rule still active plus 1 free chooseable choice!

@Breumaster ,

Since you opened this up to three choices. These are my second and third choices:

Kip Thorne

I own the book Gravitation that he co-wrote with Charles W. Misner, John Archibald Wheeler and  David I. Kaiser. I would enjoy discussing with him his Nobel Prize winning work on gravitation and black holes.

John Williams

I would love to talk to him about his approach to composing music for films. It would be great to watch him conduct an orchestra for a film score.
