It's a pitty they didn't know that time that the Charlie Chaplin movies will be iconic classics that are about to write film history. So most people can't deny, that Chaplin is a king without a crown.

Well said. He really is a king without a crown. Or at least an Oscar crown. :)

At least a few of these surprise me but it's always seemed almost unbelievable that City Lights and Modern Times didn't get any nods. May I suggest two small edits? This is a mind-bogglingly bad list.  Most of these movies, such as Leon and Donnie, are simply lousy movies.  The fact that these have a cult following by no means suggests that they should ever have been considered for an award.

Howard Skillington if someone's subjective opinion is different then yours, especially on movies which tend to be rather polarizing, it does not mean that the list is "mind-bogglingly bad" and the movies are "lousy" it just means that many people have an opinion different to yours. And in opinion of many people your comment may be perceived as mind-bogglingly bad and/or lousy. I just find it baffling.

I do not understand in what ways Léon is lousy, so any explanation would be helpful. The movie a bit operatic like The Godfather and has some over the top elements, but if the audience would imagine that the story takes place somewhere other than anywhere in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Oceania, Scandinavia, Finland, Switzerland, Belgium, South Korea, Mongolia or the Netherlands, maybe Japan or China, of contemporary times, then it actually makes tremendous sense. The movie is not particularly hollow, but simple. There is nothing wrong with a story being non-complex.

Migjen,Congratulations on reaching 100,000 votes. The Poll Maker badge doesn't automatically appear when a poll author reaches 100,000 votes. An IMDb staff member has to add the the badge to your profile page. I've already contacted the IMDb staff member who adds the badge. You should have your Poll Maker badge in the next few days.Yes, the inactive and closed polls count towards your vote total.
