The first Scary Movie made me laugh when it was released (2000ish, I was ~18). I rewatched it about 10 years later and found it terrible.Scary Movie 2 & 3 were awful, I did not watch the subsequent ones .Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Date Movie etc. also awful.

With the notable exception of Scream 3, the Scream franchise continues to be very very good.Easy choice.

Both the 'Scream' and 'Scary Movie' franchises have long ago become paint-by-number movie series. Producers will continue to make them as long as enough people continue to watch them.
