@mariojacobs,

For your consideration:

(1969–1974)

The male members of Monty Python play women during sketches. For example:

Eric Idle in Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969)

Graham Chapman and Terry Jones in Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969)

(1982)

A struggling female soprano finds work playing a male female impersonator, but it complicates her personal life.

Julie Andrews in Victor Victoria (1982)

Robert Preston also plays a drag queen in the film.

@mariojacobs,

For your consideration:

(1962 TV Movie)

Berle tries a comeback with this special, with highlights showing him competing with Jack trying to demonstrate the right approach Laurence Harvey should take in comedy, and a musical skit where Jack as Ben Hur, Harvey as Spartacus and Milton as Cleopatra lamenting their Movie depictions. Kirk Douglas and Charlton Heston make silent, uncredited cameos.

Milton Berle in The Milton Berle Spectacular (1962)

Note: Milton Berle frequently played characters in drag.

From what I can tell, the IMDb Poll is not explicitly included on the IMDb App. You can occasionally find it under Editor's picks. Currently, this poll is featured:

In the iPhone app I see links to the poll feature on the home page under Keep Exploring IMDb and in the search tab under Community.

Peter and mariojacobs,

I am using the IMDb Android app on my phone. I keep my apps update to date. I suspect that the IMDb Android and the iPhone / iPad apps are different.

I do not see a section labeled Keep Exploring IMDb on the home page. These are the sections I see:

  • From your Watchlist
  • Top picks for you
  • Fan favorites

  • IMDb Originals

  • Around the web

I also do not see the search tab labeled Community. These are the tabs that I see:

Home

  • IMDb TV
  • Movies
  • Streaming & TV
  • Celebs
  • Notifications
  • Awards & Events

I did not see a link to the IMDb polls on any of these tabs except for the occasional link in the Editors' picks.

It is a terrible film, even by Ed Wood standards, but Glen or Glenda was probably one of the earliest films dealing with the topic, and I suspect it may get some votes from bad film lovers

mariojacobs,

I second Pencho15's suggestion of Glen or Glenda. I intended to also suggest this film even though it is a laughably awful film.

mariojacobs,

Thread Bump

https://www.webopedia.com/definitions/thread-bump/

In online forums and other online discussion spaces bump is the word used to describe an action (e.g. a message post) so that a particular thread is returned to the top in the list of threads. Some users may even post a message with only the word “bump” to indicate they are posting only to bump the thread to the top of the list where more users will see it.
