Live Poll: Best FIFA World Cup Since 1954

The FIFA World Cup has been going on since 1930, where the first tournament was held in Uruguay. The tournament is held every four years, but since options are only available on IMDb from 1954, this list can only collect FIFA World Cup titles since 1954.

Based on your lifetime, which of these is the most fantastic FIFA World Cup tournament you've ever seen?

2010, because it was here. Spain LOST their opening match to Switzerland, in my home city, but went on to win the cup.

@NYVKE Yes almost the same as Argentina lost the first match against Saudi Arabia, but won in Qatar.

Very Memorable world cup in South Africa, never forgotten for football lovers, if you want to remember it, play the song Shakira - Waka Waka. 😁

I lost face among my cronies when Germany beat Brazil.

Thankfully I had given up my gambling habit by then, so at least I did not lose money.

Yes, the match was very unexpected, it seems that the bookies at that time had a big profit in the match, because Brazil at that time was very superior, so many were betting to hold Brazil and you were meant to 😅.

Going back to Qatar 2022, there were too many bizarre upsets in the early games. I'm sure there were matches being thrown due to match-fixing.

I'll shut up now.

I don't want to think about going there, but the lack of Qatar 2022 in my opinion, is the quality of the game from the national team competing in Qatar, different from Spain when they won in South Africa, their game is fantastic and can be enjoyed by football lovers, especially Germany in 2014 their game cannot be dammed, maybe in Qatar many national teams regenerate, so the quality of the teams has decreased, meaning the performance of Germany and Spain in Qatar 2022.

It's just that Qatar 2022 is still very full of dramatic, because this is one last dance from Leo Messi and Cristiano in their last world cup edition.

The question may sound better like this:

Which of the last ten FIFA World Cup events is the most fantastic you have seen?

@Jessica Done.

Yes, because my list covers the last 10 events of the world cup, then this question is better. Thank you.

The IMDb includes all world cups since 1966, why not include all available tournaments?

As for those I have seen.

1994: First time I was aware there was a football tournament, but didn't watch any and didn't care beyond filling my panini album.

1998: I think it was great but I barely remember the games, I was in elementary school.

2002: Could see very little due to the time difference with Japan. I was very happy with some surprises (Turkey and Senegal, but I loath the tournament because I still feel South Korea received a completely unfair and corrupt help to reach the semifinals at the expense of great teams. Also, Mexico lost with the most painful match of all against US so that's a bad memory.

2006: The first round was terribly boring with almost al final matches left with nothing to play. It had the best Mexico team ever, we left with a great match against Argentina that we could win. I also found the finals boring.

2010: Boring first round, just as the last tournament with very little at stake in the final matches. However, Spain was champion, and Spain is my second country and the place where my grandparents were born. I can't imagine I'll ever be as thrilled with a final match as I was there.

2014: Really good tournament with one of the most exciting group rounds I can remember, a fantastic Mexico team, and a lot of surprises and goals, which I always like. Unfortunately the final was really boring and not worth of everything that came before, also some quarter final matches were short on thrills, I remember France and Belgium playing as if it was a meanigless match without any adrenaline despite the fact that they were about to be eliminated.

2018: In general I liked it, it doesn't have my favorite matches, but it had a good quality from start to end. Unfortunately my teams Spain and Mexico left out in dissapointing matches, but that didn't affect the overall quality of the tournament.

2022: I liked the idea of giving the World Cup to Qatar until I learned all the human right violations, the tournament should never have been played there for that reason, and for that reason it can't get my vote.

As for the matches, it was also an entertaining world cup, with one of the best final matches. We got the worst Mexico team I have seen in my life, but that was only the beginning of what's coming since our football leaders have done everything possible to destroy our once competitive teams, and they are not doing anything to correct their many, many, many mistakes. Lackluster performances, if not humiliations is our future for the next world cups.

All things considered:

1.- 2014

2.- 2010

3.- 1998

4.- 2018

5.- 2006

6.- 2022

7.- 2002

@Pencho15

I started watching since 2010, while the year before, I only saw on YouTube, 2002 Korea benefited, 2006 final between France and Italy, the most iconic Zidane headed Meterazzi to the point of falling. In terms of the most beautiful 2010 world cup game in my opinion, Spain with the art of tiki taka and the Netherlands which is the total art of football, as a spectator whose country does not enter the World Cup, I really enjoy the 2010 World Cup.

2014 many spectacular goals and surprising scores, the host Brazil was slaughtered by Germany, it was an unforgettable moment, plus I won the bet at that time because it supported Germany.

2018 in terms of ordinary game in my opinion, but I got a player that I expected to join my favorite team Real Madrid at that time in 2018, but it took six years to wait for him to become a Real player Madrid, and this year Mbappe has become a Real Madrid player, although I am normal with his move this year, because Madrid itself has won many trophies without his presence.

2022 in addition to the game and the final score, indeed human rights issues are our concern with the citizens of the world, Qataris ambition to promote its country through the World Cup has lost many lives of innocent workers, all of which you can watch in the Netflix documentary entitled FIFA Uncovered.

Since you can't include all the tournaments, please don't use "of all time" in the title.
