Who Played Blackbeard The Pirate The Best? Shiver Me Timbers!

My personal pick is the first one Robert Newton. He did more than play Long John Silver in two movies.
Also I just couldn't resist that picture of Peter Ustinov as Blackbeard reaching for the purse in "BlackBeard's Ghost" (1968).

I think the title would read better as, "Shiver Me Timbers! Who Played Blackbeard The Pirate The Best?"

It will be changed back. It was one of the titles I was considering as I was evolving the title from "Shiver Me Timbers, It's Blackbeard!" to "Who Played Blackbeard The Pirate The Best? Shiver Me Timbers!" The evolution happened because I remembered the the IMDb and IMDb voters prefer to have the question in the title of the poll and that the IMDb prefers not to have punctuation in the poll title. So the middle step was "Shiver Me Timbers! Who Played Blackbeard The Pirate The Best?" then the phrases flip- flop so that if the IMDb accepted the poll and cropped the title, the question would have been kept. I would have loved to have kept the orginnal title because it is short, catchy and stands out.

It is changed. And I did include Ian McShane. He is number 2. I just liked him pointing the sword better. It is more dramatic and it is action picture with not to much blurred action in it. It is posed action.

Sorry, I couldn't find it.
How do you like the new entry on the list? I wrote all that stuff about "A Knight's Tale" because I really liked Paul Brittney's and James Purefoy'a performance the best. They both stood out along with Rufus Sewell's! I' ll delete the Knight's Tale stuff later.
