Ok, so I don't know about the best movie of 2023. But my favorite movie of 2023 is

John Wick: Chapter 4

This was the most entertaining movie of 2023 I've seen so far. I've also given it the highest rating.

What we, the audience, who goes to see these pictures, may think as the best picture may not be what the academy may think is the best picture. And these pictures we pick usually turns out to be our favorites of the year.

Like the classic countdown on New Year’s Eve, 2023 is winding down. The members of the poll board have made their picks for their favorite film of the year.

Also, do you still have a deadline for this poll? Since there are only 8 options so far, it might be best to wait a few more days before publishing it.

Yes. This is meant for films that are in widespread release before the New Year’s Eve. Why? I had always thought it was unfair to the public to have films released in the qualifying theater run right at the end of December, and have it in widespread release after the new year, and say it is a best picture nomination without not letting the movie going public see it and judge for themselves.
