Suggestion: More Multilingual Movies (Taking Suggestions)
Using more than one language in a single film can accomplish many things, including illustrating how interconnected we all are, no matter where on the globe we may be or to what culture or cultures we may belong. Each of the following films uses two or more languages. Whether by creating authenticity, enhancing atmosphere, or showing how interdependent the world is, which movie uses the changing languages to best effect?
List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls525942213/
Poll: TBD
Note: I'm definitely open to suggestions, as there is still room for seven more films. I'd especially love suggestions of older movies: Most of this list are films released after 2000, and only one movie is from before 1990. This is the third poll I've done like this so to see the other lists, just follow the links in the intro of this poll. (There are some older movies in those first two polls.) Thank you much!
Note: In this poll, combined with the two other polls linked to in this poll's intro, the movies included use 70 languages.
In alphabetical order, they are: Afrikaans, American Sign Language, Arabic, Aramaic, Awadhi, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Berber languages, Blackfoot, Bosnian, Cantonese, Catalan, Cree, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Filipino, Finnish, Flemish, French, German, Greek (ancient), Hebrew, Hindi, Hmong, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Japanese Sign Language, Kazakh, Korean, Latin, Mandarin, Mixtec, Maori, Nepali, Norwegian, Osage, Pawnee, Persian, Russian, Sioux, Sotho, Spanglish, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese, Xhosa, and Zulu
Also: Somali, Scottish Gaelic, Haryanvi, Polish, Tamil, Serbian, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Southern Sotho, Malayalam, Mende, "Irish" (gaelic?/ gangs of ny & in america), Sicilian, Czech, Bulgarian, Romanian, Icelandic, Portuguese, Tagalog.
