I do not think he deserves to be listed in that thread. May he NOT "rest in peace". And, he also does not deserve a "respectful obituary".

The man was definitely full of crap, pretending so long not to have any idea who committed the murders, and then proceeding to use brute force to steal trophies won by him but that he sold to pay off debt, the kind of behavior that shows the content of his character as being brutally aggressive. But of course, some of the homicide detectives involved were also full of crap, maybe possibly even fully cognizant of the ultimate outcome. I'm a bit undecided as to whether it was him or his son who pursued the actual wet work, and maybe they were accomplices, but he had to have known regardless, ensuring that somebody got away with murder by virtue of reasonable doubt.

@Breumaster It looks like nobody. He messed up his reputation with no chance to redeem himself. But someone loves to make movies about such tales. I wouldn't be supriced if someone decides to cash in on this story.

OJ married a woman to whom he was physically abusive and who later had an extramarital affair with a man. Somebody entered the house in which she and her side piece were staying and stabbed them with a knife enough that they bled to death, and most probably OJ was the person who did this: means, motive and opportunity. At his trial, he took the witness stand and gave his account, which had to be significantly false. After having been acquitted, he continued this publicity sort of ruse, claiming to want to avenge his wife's murder. Eventually he wrote a book titled If I Did It, something a troll toward the victims would do.

"claiming to want to avenge his wife's murder"

I read about bad joke about that. There it goes:

"O.J. can finally rest in peace knowing that his wife's murderer is dead".

Looked up to see what writing credits, Alice Munro had on IMDb as she passed away yesterday. There's two relatively big credits [Julieta (2016); Away from Her (2006] to her name. Not sure if it's enough for a poll.

But in case, anyone was a fan of her (or marginally interested)?

Alice Ann Munro was a Canadian short story writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2013. She passed away yesterday (13 May 2024 (aged 92) Ontario, Canada).

EDIT:
This is the first time I submitted a person's death date to IMDb. It's already approved. That's a fast turn around.

Just saw it in the "Tagesschau", the first channel for German news. I was shocked and then cried a tear for the extraordinary and admirable actor. One of the earliest memories of his acting for me is Invasion of the Bodysnatchers, where he played alongside Leonard Nimoy, Jeff Goldblum, Veronika Cartwright and Brooke Adams. Later I saw Outbreak and after that numberous other movies from earlier and later. His characters were always catchy, somehow. My thoughts are with his bereaved. I quit now before I cry again. :(

So, Breumaster, your objections to the redesign are the only thing you'll ever want to discuss around here from now on? Why didn't you just indicate as much ahead of time? Haha. Hardly any of us like the redesign among other things, so there really isn't much to say. We know that you quit, and it is also true that many Contributors have quit, pending true improvements. I've not made any submissions, since late 2022 (which actually has more to do with some turmoil in my family). That has been the long and short of it, for the past half decade. Anyway, I chose to stick with "distraction". There is nothing else I can really do afterall.

You got me there, Breumaster, because apparently I just don't understand what you keep complaining about here. I'm glad Jessica understands what you're trying to convey, and I apologize for offending you so grievously for "projecting" and being completely and utterly wrong about it. I truly don't understand the conversation that has transpired in light of Donald Sutherland passing away. I'm assuming stv understands, but of even that, I cannot be sure.

I didn't really quit making polls, if there will be an option to use the old form to do it. So I leave undisclosed polls open for the website to consider a dual way. It's up to IMDb, if they want me to do further work on my polls. I don't mind if they don't. But I don't want to change my mind for that.

I rescinded my dramatization of your words, Breumaster.. I mean, I understand your ultimatum. That's all well and good. (I've seen similar with ljdoncel with regard to prohibited name corrections in the submission interface, and also Ben Hampel with regard to an intriguing feature for which only Urbane and a few other Contributors seem to have the privilege.) I don't really understand the "Cope or forget" bit. Isn't the tone associated with such words inherently dramatic? Now, I suppose not.

You wrote, "I don't know how it should concern my problem with the new edit form. Distraction." I mean, that's a given, right? Who would expect otherwise? Why would you respond that way? I can't solve something greenlit by Col and imposed by the IMDb site authorities. If I had a workaround, like a bookmarklet or something, for problem of the way the redesigned editing interface for IMDb lists works, then I would've made that clear a while ago.

@Breumaster

There is a link-hack to edit lists using the old method.

1. Choose a List.

2. Click on Edit. (Now the new edit interface should be displayed)

3) To display the old editing tool modify the link to replace "edit" with "edit-larger".

4) Press enter, and the old editing tool should be displayed.

5) Typically, this method is used by default on larger lists, but by using the "link-hacking" you can use it on lists of any size. There is your option to use the old editing tool, all you have to do is to add "edit-larger" to the link.
