I remember this poll. : )  What a great reboot! Although I feel sorry for several of these characters, when I saw Bambi as a child, I cried uncontrollably and I still feel that way, albeit without all the tears, lol.

Just a thought, I get it is a recast poll, but I think a couple minor changes may make it a "new and improved" version. I think two tweaks would make it a tighter and more laser-focused poll without changing the answer pool much (one change).

I think the use of the term animated cartoon over just cartoon is better, as it refines the scope and better defines the options in the answer pool. Plus, the excluding anime seems a bit unfair, but if you are willing to drop the #2 Belgium-created Gargamel option, the answer pool would be decidedly All-American and you could exclude anime without adding the footnote to do it. Plus, I am not sure the Gargamel in the original poll was a cartoon (I can't tell if the character image is live-action, or just photo-realistic???).

If you decide against the all-American slant. I nominate for the answer pool another Belgium animated cartoon character, Thomson & Thompson, who seem to find to find themselves in predictments, much like Wile E. Coyote does.
