Also, the options suggest that the poll is about autobiographies, so perhaps it would be helpful to include that word in the text.

This might be a stupid question, but Momma always said "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask".
I get that the list does not include characters based on real people, so it includes only biographies that could have been written by fictional characters. But, I don't get how "Did he earn it?", by John H. Miller get written some fifty years after the author's death.
Maybe, the title & author should be "Did I earn it?", by James F. Ryan.
