Live Poll: Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary 1960s Movies

On April 4, 2023, Warner Bros. Entertainment celebrated the 100th anniversary of its original founding in 1923. It released its first film, Where the North Begins (1923), starring Rin Tin Tin, a few months later. Over the next century, Warner Bros. would go on to become one of the original "Big Five" studios and still holds the distinction today as a current "Big Five" member. Its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery is an international conglomerate with a foothold in all facets of entertainment and a nearly 25% global market share. As a result of its hundred-year effort, the WB movie catalog currently includes a whopping 12,500+ feature films.

Which of these select Warner Bros. produced movies released between 1960 and 1969 is its greatest accomplishment during this period?

Regarding The Damned (1969), I think it might be distributed by rather than produced by WB.

@Peter_pbn, I will look into it some more. Actually,  determining WB involvement was harder than you would think, so I had to make my best guess. My thought is that they were not the lead production company and more likely a co-production company or stakeholder through a negative deal than not here.

I share your concerns considering it was made outside the US. But, I have seen other foreign language productions that WB produced in the 1960s. WB seemingly had one third own men on-board during productions, as one of the producers for the production was an American. The scenes also seem to have been shot a second time in English too with care to cast multilingual actors, although one accent was so thick it had to be re-dubbed.

Plus, Warner Bros. held all the international distribution rights, so they were a stakeholder with a vested interest in the production. Plus, I have a couple sources listing them as a co-production company. I am not 100% sure, but I am more sure than not they were one of the production companies.

@Peter_pbn I moved 'The Damned' into the #35 spot as the pictured example for Another 1960s Warner Bros. Production Not Listed, where at least I can swap out the example if need be. Have you seen this movie?

@dan_dassow

FYI, I am reporting a non-issue, which means either your team solved this glitch issue or it was created by the poll author, likely by using outside hyperlinks to cite sources.

@urbanemovies ,

The glitch appears to only affect the first page of the poll page. The errant characters do not appear on the second poll page:

https://www.imdb.com/poll/?ref_=po_sm&start=26

Unless we report these kind of problems soon after they occur, the problem goes appears to have gone away to the IMDb developers.

@dan_dassow,  I have been taking these screenshots within hours of each poll going live and posting it on an on-going data issue thread on the topic, so they can see the error immediately, as well as, have a record of the problem, if as you say it disappears after a few days (or when the poll gets to page 2). Lastly, I think using less or no outside hyperlinks on the list helps tremendously. I am still keeping them, as they help keep the polls current, I am just posting them in the poll's thread header instead now.

@urbanemovies ,

For the most part, unless you or I post a separate thread that there is a problem, the IMDb staff will probably not act on the problem. When I get a chance, I will do so.

@urbanemovies ,

I did not see this response from Jon.

Going forward the encoding issue has been corrected and the stray text does not appear beyond page 1 for the polls affected.

I believe the issue is probably resolved.
