Live Poll: IMDb Poll Board Movies That Promotes Understanding
Please contribute by picking your movie that promotes understanding!
I like to add a short motivation about your pick, so please explain your pick in 2 or 3 lines.
Description:
From 1945 until 1963 there was a Golden Globe category for 'Best Film Promoting International Understanding'. You can see the winners HERE. In these troubled times it's very important that we show national and international understanding so that we can unite. So maybe we need a come back of this award category.
The IMBd poll board members have chosen important movies that show understanding. Which movie do you think does the best job of promoting understanding.

If you are ok with documentaries then "March of the Penguins" - such an outstanding movie showing a different side of Penguins and Antarctica.
Otherwise, "Farewell, My Concubine' - another great one, showing Chinese culture.

Capernaum (2018) - It's a beautiful heartbreaking movie that made me understand the struggles of refugees, the lifestyle of those living in the slums of Lebanon, and how lucky I am to get food on the table and a place to sleep.

Mine would probably be The Florida Project:
This exquisite film promotes understanding of the experience of poverty, subjugation of women, and child abuse and neglect, and how these issues are deeply connected. It does so in such a personal, poignant, and so often enjoyable way, however, that it doesn't ever feel preachy or academic. You'll fall in love with a little girl and be so enchanted by the innocence and humor of childhood that you won't even notice that you're becoming a better person.
(Wonderful idea for a poll, Hoekkie!)

La Grande Illusion (1937)
Follows the relationship between a group French war prisoner and his German prison guard, showing that despite their countries differences they could respect and appreciate each other.
It is specially important as this was a cry for peace, just as World War Two was about to begin.

Please correct #5:
Because when you save even just only one life, you save the whole world.
Also, in Pencho's pick, I'm not sure but maybe this is better?
Follows the relationship between a group of French war prisoners and their German prison guard
