Live Poll: Face-Off: "How Dare They Do That, Actually?"

Intro:

The honourable method actor Robert De Niro was invited to hold a speech about the movie Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) on Monday, November 27th, 2023 at the Gotham Movie awards. His speech was about America's past and also poltical motivated. When he looked at the teleprompter, he realized that several lines of the beginning of his speech were shortened by Apple. He stopped and went for his mobile to hold the original speech he wanted to hold.

He asked openly "I'm gonna say these things, but to Apple and thank them to all that, Gothams, blah blah blah, Apple. But I dont feel like thanking them all after what they did. How dare they do that, actually?"

Was it ok to shorten his lines?

Please tell us here.

Suggestions:

Searching for an absolutely yes option.

Searching for an absolutely no option.

No excuse inbetween!

WTF. Really? Have I been living under a rock all Thanksgiving week? I didn't even know about this. Wow.

Absolutely No. If De Niro's allegations are true. And, I suspect they are because it was not in his interest to fire at Gotham and Apple. Then, it is unacceptable censure. I understand that they perhaps did not want to make things political. But at the end of the day, De Niro has freedom of speech, if he wants to talk politics, he can do so. The most infuriating is that it seems they did not discuss it with him. You cannot censure someone's personal speech without warning them.

To be honest, I would have a hard time finding common ground with anyone who might defend this censure.

Thank you. I've put it into the option. Just changed "them" to "him or her".

"When looking at De Niro, he was 80 years old at that point." What does this mean? Why mention it?

Hi, Peter. Maybe I wanted to point out that he is a honourable person. I wrote free. I'll change it.

Does someone have at least a fictional "Absolutely yes."-option? How could it read like? I could do also, but want to get a view beyond mine. That's why I leave it to the poll board at least until tomorrow.

Please correct:

His speech was about America's past and it was also politically motivated.

"I'm gonna say these things, but to Apple and thank them and all that. Gotham, blah blah blah, Apple. But I don’t really feel like thanking them at all for what they did. How dare they do that, actually.”

Thank you, Jessica. Please look at this. That is a clip of The Hollywood Reporter (YT). They quoted him 1:1. You can go to one minute, two seconds, where they showed his original words. I think I shouldn't censure his words again, isn't it? I changed the other typos.

With other words, should I really correct the original words of Robert De Niro?

I'll cut the lines "By Breumaster" and "By thenolanfan", because it seems useless, somehow.

Oh, sorry, I found an article with slightly different wording. What you have is probably correct, though it's hard to know for sure unless we can hear him say it.

I've put in the YouTube-link from The Hollywood Reporter. Is that better? I think it looks more authentic that way.

Jessica could you check the idea again? I guess now it's best explained. Thank you in common. :D

Thank you, Jessica. :D So I keep it like it is. It should be published before the interest vanishes. Maybe next week?

Thank you, Jessica. Thank you, Buddies. :D

It's a little unconventional for a Face-Off-poll to come published on sunday, but I like it. ;)
