I'm now wondering if the zombie deer also are likely to be accompanied by zombie deer ticks. And people bitten by zombie deer ticks also get Lyme disease and zombiism. A double whammy of inflictions!

Let's hope we never have an instance of zombie bed bugs.

I know it's probably way too late now, but I just found another one that may be the most terrifying of all:

The "Z-Rex" (zombie tyrannosaurus rex) in The Jurassic Dead (2017):

Funny idea. I did like Black Sheep very well. I laughed my ass off.

Tsar, did you think of the dobermans (-men?) of the Umbrella Company?

Resident Evil had a lot of bad beeings, I wouldn't count as human.

The Gobbler of death in ThanksKilling (I didn't watch it, but it was a recommendation on a German movie site)

Was Cujo rabid or a zombie? Nobody knows ... ;) I guess he was just rabid.

@Breumaster The list already has a dog and a tiger.

Are you sure that the turkey in ThanksKilling was a zombie (i.e. did it die and come back to life, or was its brain controlled by some other force like voodoo)?

@Breumaster Which movie? ThanksKilling? No, I didn't see it, but it doesn't look to me like it was a zombie turkey, which is why I was asking if you were able to confirm that. There are definitely a lot of movies with killer animals that weren't zombies.

Hey Breumaster. Threw in chickens and turkeys in a single option as the turkey from Thankskilling was demonically possessed (if I got it correctly).

Thanks. In the process of repushing the poll right now.

@Tsarstepan What exactly is a "repush?" Is the poll erased and started over, or just altered?

And why would IMDb staff ever start a poll without first getting the go-ahead from the person who is managing the list?

I have little experience with polls, but it seems like a no-brainer to me that there should be a process where the list creator would need to tell the staff the list is ready before it can become a poll. This would be similar to my lists of duplicate keywords for mass mergers. Something like this: (1) start with an "idea" post, (2) gather comments from fellow contributors with a timed comment period, (3) finish the list, (4) convert the post from an idea post to a different type of post, and (5) notify IMDb staff the list is ready to be a poll.

It's just altered for corrections, additions, spelling and things like that. The existing votes stay.

@keyword_expert ,

As @Breumaster states above, this is a means to update a user created poll after it goes live. Existing votes are not affected.

Thanks, but that only answers my first question. What about my other questions? Is there room for improvement in the procedures by which lists are turned into polls?

@keyword_expert Polls are not pushed by IMDb staff, but by a group of volunteer users that have been making polls for years, including Dan and myself.

We are responsible of reviewing suggestions, making sure everything is accurate and selecting polls to push everyday. Any error you may found is on us. We all discuss each suggestion, but each individual editor has the final word on what is published each day.

Repushing is a way to add new options suggested after the poll is published or making small corrections. Repushing is always done after the request of the list creator.

Some authors do leave a note to indicate when they consider the poll ready, which is helpful, but not all of them, so most of the time we consider if there are no pending comments or suggestions to be answered to know if we can consider it ready or not. Sometimes we also have to speed up publishing if the poll is related to a current topic and then leave further additions for repushing.

"Idea" is the category where all poll suggestions should be, and once they are published they should be moved to "praise". We used to be able to edit all threads in order to locate them in the right category ourselves, but the IMDb remove that ability from us some months ago so know it depends on each thread author to have their post in the right category, which is the reason for some of them to be missplaced, specially if they are old suggestions made by people who later became inactive.

@keyword_expert ,

What you describe is a sound process; it resembles what SAS (Statistical Analysis System) uses to determine the priority of updates to their system.

We originally started with something similar to the paradigm you outline when the IMDb Poll discussion board was hosted on IMDb.

Trusted volunteer non-staff IMDb poll administrators perform the day-to-day work to encourage poll authors, monitor the maturation of a poll ideas and select polls to go live. IMDb staff are not directly involved in the day-to-day operation of the polls. IMDb editorial staff do select the poll that is featured on the IMDb Home Page. They also provide overall guidelines on what constitutes acceptable poll ideas and select the volunteer non-staff IMDb poll administrators.

(1) start with an "idea" post ...

This is the process for creating a poll idea.

FAQ: So You Want to Make an IMDb Poll? Here's How...

(2) gather comments from fellow contributors with a timed comment period ...

The poll community as a whole encourage comments to help mature polls. Originally, comments on polls were more prevalent. However, comments have decreased over time. It would be helpful if there were more constructive comments on poll suggestions. You are encouraged to comment on polls you would like to go live.

Having a set time period to mature a poll would be nice. However, it may be impractical. Many poll ideas, such as In Memoriam polls, are time sensitive.

(3) finish the list,

Some poll suggestions take longer to mature than others.

(4) convert the post from an idea post to a different type of post

This is not practical since there are a limited number of types of posts on Sprinklr. Poll suggestions start out as Ideas. When a poll goes live, we ask the poll author to change the type of post to Praise.

(5) notify IMDb staff the list is ready to be a poll.

The poll admins try to have the poll author and other contributors help determine when a poll suggestion is mature enough to go live.

This poll reminds me of the old song they used to play on Dr. Demento:

Dead puppies,

Dead puppies,

Dead puppies,

Aren't much fun!
