@Douglas69 ,

Welcome to the IMDb Poll discussion board.

Clearly @gabriel_gomez_v1f5ssvze4xd meant 2023, since all of the films in his list (https://www.imdb.com/list/ls563439811/) have a 2023 release date. Unfortunately, none of these films have been completed. Some release dates may slip.

@gabriel_gomez_v1f5ssvze4xd ,

I converted my reply to a post. Sadly, @Douglas69 edited his post after I replied to include a spam link. His post was removed and his account will likely be deleted.

I would shorten the title a bit, and here is the preferred capitalization:

What Will Be the Highest-Grossing Movie of 2023?

And correct a typo in the question:

Which will be the most successful movie of the next year?

As always, edits should be made in the list.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023): Look at the reception of the previous two Ant-Man movies. I would love this to get past $1BN. No faith it will.
2.  Creed III (2023):  Laughing emojis would be nice to have for this one.
3.  Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023): If Black Adam failed to break even and the first Shazam failed to break $400MM, this ain't going to break records. No ill will towards this sequel.
4.  Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023) Despite D&D and several other roleplaying games being mainstreamed (celebrity players and all)? I'm not wasting any betting money on this to win.
5.  The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023): I suspect this will break a $BN. May end up voting for this. Ask me later.
6.  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023): I would love for this to take it. But the history of the previous two films were enough proof this won't win.
7.  Fast X (2023): Very diminishing returns for the most recent sequels. Plus I DO ABSOLUTELY HAVE ILL WILL towards the franchise. Die Fast and Furious franchise! DIE!
8.  The Little Mermaid (2023): Disney changed the race of Ariel. Good for them. But that's going to ultimately hurt its chances at taking the number 1 spot. I predict it will barely break $1BN. But won't take the prize.
9.  Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023): I'm still pissed the first one didn't break $1BN despite being the best Marvel film ever created.
10.  Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023): Seriously diminishing returns on the franchise. Will it clean itself from the stench of Michael Bay? I certainly hope so.
11.  The Flash (2023): Too much controversy regarding the star and what future the DCEU has with the new James Gunn led path.
12.  Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023): Two words. Crystal Skull. Let's hope not a repeat.
14.  Barbie (2023): No ill will but this would make for the funniest blockbuster ever.
15.  Oppenheimer (2023): It's Christopher Nolan. Despite the Tenet stumble. He has some serious contention. But then again, it depends on if China will allow it to be theatrically released. No China release? Not a winner. Then again? If any of these films don't get a China release? That'll cripple their chances at taking the no. 1 spot.
16.  The Marvels (2023): So much undeserved divisive hate for the first movie. This one is automatically disqualified for the top box office winner.
17.  Blue Beetle (2023): Too esoteric a character to make into the top 5 highest.
18.  Kraven the Hunter (2023): Wondering if the Morbius and Venom films (quality and box office histories) might hurt Sony's chance. Plus the character ain't particularly mainstream either.
19.  Dune: Part Two (2023): Wishful thinking has me rooting for this one. But I don't have faith in the moviegoing populace as a collective.
20.  The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023): Too much time has passed since the last Hunger Games movie. And even then, none of the individual films broke the $1BN barrier.
21.  Wonka (2023): Nice try.
22.  Untitled Ghostbusters Afterlife Sequel (2023): Look at the recent sequel box office. So? No.
23.  Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023): I hated the first one. It was DC's Fast and Furious entry. I'm hoping not.

If any of them break a billion USD, then I won't understand why. "Disney changed the race of Ariel." Yeah! They changed her from a mermaid into a hammerhead shark with arms. I wonder if she will still have red hair, you know, for ginger representation. O, somehow I doubt it.
