"It isn't faithful to the book", "It has too many naked scenes" and "It doesn't have enough diversity" all enrage me.

But, "It isn't faithful to the book" is by far the worst of them. Someone who says that (about any film) immediately loses all my consideration because it isn't only an insult to a film, it is implicitly denying that cinema is an art. And, I can't accept that. Same thing for: "It isn't historically accurate."

The film violates canon.

The characters would never do that.

The film is filled with plot holes.

The film is incoherent.

Only a true fan would like this film.

It's unrealistic. (Especially when said about movies like superhero movies, fantasy movies or intentionally bizarre movies - all three kinds are unrealistic in their basics.)

I mean things like Spiderman with his spidersenses, swinging on buildings, hanging down from the top of the room. Or LOTR - Trees that walk and talk, the ages of the beings. Or Pi (Aronosky's) - No such intelligent dude would do like that, while the movie is told in an allegory style.

I must admit I have a diversity fatigue...

... and I'm glad to be 'diverse' enough to have a right to complain about it lol
