Live Poll: The Villainous Syllable

The syllable mor is often used in names for villains and evil places, perhaps because it's found in many Latin words related to death. It is also similar to the old Germanic word mora, meaning dark, which Tolkien borrowed for his Elvish languages.

Which of these villainous names containing this syllable sounds the best to you?

Morticia Addams? I didn't think she was a villain.

I didn't have a Mordecai in the list, but maybe it was a typo?

I have added the name now.

Thanks, Dan.

It was a tough choice, but I finally went with Morgarath - there's just something about the sound of that name. I also really like Minas Morgul, Morgoth and Bavmorda.

Fun fact, "Morden" is the plural form of the noun "murder" in Swedish. :)

I would suggest for consideration, a character named Morton, but that would be a spoiler. For that reason, I've not identified the movie, but it might suffice to say that he has an alter ego in the same way that Palpatine does.
