Intro:

Some movies you watch once - and others you just watch over and over again, no matter how many times they've already been on. They are the ultimate comfort movies, cult classics, or scene favorites that you simply can't look away from and like to watch again, with time.

Which of these film mostly deserves the title of the ultimate rewatchable?

Please feel free to join the discussion here.

My five:

The Great Escape...1963

Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory....1971 Original!!!!!!!

Raiders of the Lost Ark... 1981

A Christmas Carol... 1984 (the George C. Scott version)

The Wizard of Oz... 1939

I've got a ton of honorable mentions that could go here, but I know that you said to limit this to five.  Just for fun, they would include:

The Princess Bride

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The Sound of Music

A Charlie Brown Christmas

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

Miracle on 34th Street (1947 original)

The Ten Commandments (1956)

Not the Johnny Depp films? ... Sorry that joke had to be made. I instantly knew which Willy Wonka movie you desire.  Your wishes are on the list. I just wondered you didn't pick 'It's a Wonderful Life' with Donna Reed and James Stewart. There was a "cheers" Christmas episode about. They all were naging around that it's always the same each Christmas. As mood was at the bottom, someone turned on 'It's a Wonderful Life'. At the end all of them had wet eyes. ;)

@Breumaster   Actually, I never really liked It's A Wonderful Life.  I have always found that film to be overly long, tedious, and boring.  It would have done much better, to me, as a ninety minute film.

You surprise me. Even I had wet eyes on the end, every time when I saw it.

1. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

2. Life of Pi

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
4. Paddington 2

5. Jumanji (the 1995 one, one of my favorite movies when I was a child)

I didn't list 3 LotR movies to leave them for the others. ;)

corrected ... again. I corrected it yesterday, because I also thought it looks wrong, but the window didn't take it over and I didn't re-check. Thank you for pointing out. :D

Thank you. Your lists-links don't work, I get a 404 on every try, but I put the Films you picked on the list. You just gotta check, if I found the right ones.

You're totally right with that, Jessica. Since no one including me remembered it, I think we can erase the idea. (list & Thread) It seems like a little refreshing the idea gets better popularity, so I should let it stay. We can also let the old idea stay parallel and look which one seems more attractive to our poll board users. What do you suggest?

At first I thought this suggestion was about our Top 5 most rewatchable movies, but I see now it's a bit different to the other list.

I guess you can let the other remain for now, if you wish.

I can research, but I simply don't watch enough TV series to know them instantly.

No pressure, I just thought you might be interested since you participated in my Child TV Performances poll.

In my youth I saw more of TV series. It nearly vanished when I grew older. Since TV series have grown in quality I watch a little more, but very far from many. Mayba Nick Cage in Spider Noir? Or Brenda Gleeson in Spider Noir? I don't kow if they are nominated for it.
